HealthEdge is consolidating its Atlassian products across a post-merger portfolio of business units (GuidingCare, Wellframe, Altruista, and HealthProof/Advantasure) into a unified Cloud environment: Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and Rovo/Claude. We’re hiring a technical leader to own this consolidation end to end and the long term platform strategy: architecture, vendor management, internal product roadmap, and team leadership.
This is a hands-on role, not a pure people-management seat. You’ll set the architecture strategy your team executes against, and work with business leaders to refine strategies and define roadmaps that enable them to meet their business objectives. You’ll lead two delivery tracks — internal HealthEdge teams and external customers — through their respective managers, plus a shared platform architect function, building the in-house technical judgment we’ve relied on outside consultants for.
If you thrive on building in environments where the playbook is still being written, are excited to set a new bar for how AI changes the way a team operates, and know how to keep complex systems healthy while driving them forward, then this role is for you.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL GET TO
- Own our Atlassian architecture and governance. Set direction for our multi-instance Cloud environment, including how business units consolidate onto shared standards for permissions, SCIM/Okta identity, and Jira at scale and the tradeoff between customization and simplification.
- Own our HIPAA/BAA compliance posture. Know BAA scope across products, Marketplace apps, integrations, and AI connectors like Rovo. Help define our go-forward strategy.
- Own licensing strategy in partnership with procurement. Forecast demand, model tier and seat decisions against business priorities, and bring renewal recommendations forward with the numbers behind them. Procurement owns the commercial process; you own the platform judgment feeding it.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to redesign how teams work. Go beyond standardizing tooling. Work with the business to rethink approaches to workflow and operating models as we consolidate.
- Communicate at the executive level. Bring platform strategy and renewal decisions directly to executive level stakeholders.
- Team building. Set the bar for ownership and delivery, reshape how the work is divided, and coach people leaders.
- Use AI to work smarter. Bring an AI-first lens to platform design and support, for yourself and your team.
- Deliver in increments, not big-bang. Ship in slices, prove value early, and let the roadmap adjust as you learn. Run experiments, take measured risks, and don’t let perfect block good.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Deep, current hands-on experience with Atlassian Cloud permissions, SCIM/identity provisioning, and Jira architecture at scale.
- Ability to read, debug, and evaluate admin tooling built against the Atlassian REST API (Python preferred).
- A track record leading platform consolidation and workflow redesign through executive stakeholders in a post-M&A or multi-BU environment.
- Direct, in-house platform ownership background, prioritized over pure consulting or staffing experience.
- Experience operating a platform inside a regulated environment: HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, PCI, FedRAMP, or GxP. You understand how compliance constrains architecture, vendor selection, and AI adoption, and you’ve navigated it without becoming a bottleneck. Healthcare specifically is a plus, not a requirement.
- Hands-on Atlassian licensing and vendor management experience (tier modeling, seat true-ups, renewal negotiation support) is a strong plus. If you’ve owned licensing for a comparable enterprise platform instead, we’ll teach the Atlassian specifics.
- A track record building or turning around a team: setting a high bar for performance, structuring for end to end ownership, and developing people into larger scope.
- An iterative delivery mindset. You’ve replaced multi-quarter platform programs with shorter cycles that show value along the way, and you can point to a measured risk that didn’t pay off and what you did next.
- AI-first and already weaving AI into how you work, and ready to set that standard for your team.
