Role Overview:
The Senior Manager – Business Finance will serve as a strategic finance partner to the business, driving sustainable revenue growth and profitability through financial insights, commercial decision support, and data-driven problem solving. The role will partner closely with Category, Marketing, Product, Supply, Expansion, and Leadership teams to shape business strategy, evaluate growth opportunities, optimize commercial investments, and improve overall business performance.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with first-principles thinking, structured problem-solving, and the ability to influence business decisions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Growth & Strategy
Identify and evaluate key revenue drivers, customer trends, and commercial levers to unlock sustainable business growth
Assess the performance of business initiatives, pilots, and experiments, providing recommendations on scalability and optimization
Build financial models to evaluate pricing strategies, promotional investments, customer acquisition initiatives, and monetization opportunities
Perform scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to support strategic planning and investment decisions
Continuously monitor business performance to identify emerging opportunities and risks impacting growth
2. Business Insights & Decision Support
Build scalable reporting frameworks and dashboards to provide real-time visibility into business performance
Conduct deep-dive analyses across customer acquisition, retention, order frequency, contribution margins, category performance, and unit economics
Translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights that influence strategic priorities
Define and monitor key business and financial KPIs to measure the success of strategic initiatives
Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making through analytical rigor and structured problem-solving
3. Financial Planning & Performance Management
Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning for business verticals
Own financial performance reviews by tracking actuals against plans and identifying key business drivers through variance analysis
Drive weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews with senior leadership, highlighting financial performance, risks, and growth opportunities
Establish performance benchmarks and recommend actions to improve business outcomes and operational efficiency
4. Reporting & Compliance
Ensure timely, accurate MIS, financial reporting, and business dashboards
Drive reporting automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data accuracy
Strengthen financial governance through robust controls, process standardization, and audit readiness
Must-Have
Minimum 4 years of experience in Business Finance or FP&A
Master’s in business (Finance/Strategy) or CA preferred
First-principles thinking: building hypotheses of factors influencing target metric, learnings from past successful/ failed experiments and designing new solutions
Data-first thinking to interpret trends and conclude insights post bias-removal
Should have a P&L thought process, trade-offs that need to be made and impact of various decision on different line items of the P&L
Proven experience in cost analysis, cost optimisation, and financial modelling
Proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, dashboards, and analytical tools
Ability to work with large data sets and derive meaningful insights
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
