Job Description- Drive Visa reach through promoting and sales Visa products, payment solutions, value added services for merchants and acquirers in Azerbaijan.
- Be accountable, strengthen and extend Visas impact with assigned accounts of the top merchants, PSP, and acquirers from Azerbaijan, leading relationship and commercialization of Visas business development objectives with these clients.
- Identify and assess F2F acquiring and eCom development trends, opportunities and threats in Azerbaijan.
- Qualify, and quantify market specific opportunities in close cooperation with the local Team and understand factors critical to successful cooperation with merchants, PSP, and acquirers.
- Active contribution into market business development including strategy, planning and implementation.
- Ensure the sub-regional merchant solutions strategy and plans are effectively communicated to and understood by the relevant stakeholders in Azerbaijan.
- Develop a strong understanding of Visas products and services as well as the entire payments industry and ensure their proactive sales to merchants, PSPs and acquirers.
- Make suggestions to the relevant Visa teams on product improvement, pricing, provide customer feedback, come up with independent ideas on adding products and solutions or adapting them to the requirements of the local market.
- Carry out proactive actions aimed at increasing F2F acquiring and eCom of Visa acceptance in Azerbaijan, find untapped merchant segments for acceptance, work towards financial literacy of SMEs and its enablement.
- Facilitate Co-brand initiatives with merchants and issuers prospecting, lead development, business case for the clients, negotiations, active selling and contracting for profitable new Cobrand opportunities.
- Support Co-brand deals after their launch, control results, products upselling, deals renewal and extension.
- Drive deepen penetration of consumer payments, B2B solutions, power client business with value-added services.
- Define, align and achieve business objectives with the sub-regional merchant sales plans, coordinate the implementation of the sales plans within the constraints of the budget and available resources.
- Collaborate closely with the Local Team, sub-regional and Dubai-based staff to manage the business, technical, service, and legal relationships and activities with stakeholders (banks, vendors, third parties) and incorporate learnings into the process.
- In conjunction with sub-regional based staff, manage the provision of consultancy to acquirers, merchants, ISVs, TPAs etc. Visa products and solutions.
- Represent Visa by speaking at conferences and business meetings and undertaking public relations activities where appropriate.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications;
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
- 5 or more years of work experience with a bachelors degree in PSPs, banks or international payment schemes.
- Extensive experience in payment tools, digital products, and eCom business development. Proven ability managing a pipeline, negotiating business agreements, and driving commercial results.
- The successful candidate will be comfortable with the Visa Leadership Principles (Lead Courageously, Collaborate as One Visa, Obsess about Customers, Execute with Excellence), and is focused on growing as a leader as part of daily responsibilities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills are needed to influence direction and change attitudes and decisions of senior level international bankers.
- Strong commercial acumen with previous product line P&L responsibility is a plus.
- Deep customer insights and analytical abilities for being able to design a market leading and profitable CVP.
- Fluent in eCom business development and or program management best practices along with implications for acquirers, networks and merchants.
- Proven track record of successful sales and relationship management with proven ability to interact at the C level executives within client organizations.
- Proven ability to negotiate business agreements and develop new business partnerships with merchants.
- Dynamic and flexible – Able to juggle numerous responsibilities simultaneously with swift turnaround times, able to work across multiple time zones when required.
- Analytical – Ability to clarify assessment needs and perform rigorous analysis to support project objectives.
- Fluency in English, Azerbaijani and Russian, and must be proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GPT-based AI tools.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office in Baku 4 set days a week (determined by leadership site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
