About the Senior Logistics Specialist position:The Senior Logistics Specialist ensures efficient and compliant handling of goods across inbound, outbound, inventory, and documentation processes. This role supports business needs by monitoring shipments, optimizing operations, coordinating vendors, and implementing process improvements. The position may involve hands-on warehouse tasks as well as system-based logistics management.
Key Responsibilities:1. Shipping Operations & Compliance
- Oversee domestic and international shipments, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfilment.
- Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to manage logistics flow and resolve shipping delays.
- Provide shipment solutions for new order types, troubleshoot logistics issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate system records and ensure all import/export processes comply with international trade, customs and HSE regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., customs compliance) and external partners to address compliance matters and develop corrective actions.
2. Packing & Warehouse Operations
- Perform system-based and physical packing according to SOPs and shipping requirements.
- Ensure goods are properly packaged, labelled, and prepared for shipment. Ensure shipment shipments are picked up by courier in timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized warehouse/packing environment.
3. Cost Control & Vendor Management
- Monitor freight costs and carrier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage logistics vendors, including timely invoice processing, performance review, and service quality improvement.
4. Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Implement best practices to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance service levels.
- Work with Commercial, Procurement, Production, Legal, and other teams to align logistics operations with business goals.
- Support training and guidance for junior logistics staff when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, operations, or a related field; additional certifications preferred.
- 3 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or shipping operations, supervisory or senior operational experience preferred.
- Experience in biotech, life sciences, or regulated industries is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in reporting, transit time analysis, and freight cost evaluation.
- Proficient in logistics systems, Microsoft Excel, and other data tools.
- Fluent in English and Chinese (both written and spoken) is a must.
- Physical capability to handle packages up to 15kg.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Legal eligibility to work in the Netherlands.
