Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Linux & UNIX Administration
- Administer, maintain, and support large-scale Linux and UNIX environments including:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Oracle Linux
- Solaris 10/11
- Ubuntu and other enterprise Linux distributions
- Perform OS installation, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Develop automation using shell scripting, Ansible, Python, and other infrastructure automation tools.
ERP & Mission-Critical Application Support
- Provide infrastructure support for:
- SAP S/4HANA
- SAP ECC
- Oracle ERP and associated applications
- SAP application and database landscapes
- Coordinate with application, database, storage, network, and security teams to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
High Availability & Clustering
- Design, implement, manage, and troubleshoot:
- Veritas Cluster Server (VCS)
- Linux High Availability Clusters
- Solaris Clustering environments
- SAP High Availability architectures
- Ensure business-critical applications meet availability and recovery objectives.
Kubernetes & Container Platforms
- Deploy and administer:
- Kubernetes clusters
- Container platforms (Docker, Podman)
- Container orchestration and lifecycle management
- Support modernization initiatives involving cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
Virtualization & Cloud Infrastructure
- Manage VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V, or similar virtualization platforms.
- Design and support virtualized enterprise workloads.
- Optimize infrastructure utilization and resource allocation.
- Support hybrid cloud integration and cloud migration initiatives.
Storage & Data Protection
- Administer enterprise storage environments including:
- SAN storage
- NAS storage
- NFS/CIFS environments
- Enterprise backup solutions
- Work with storage teams on provisioning, performance optimization, replication, and capacity management.
Disaster Recovery & Replication
- Design and maintain enterprise DR strategies supporting critical workloads.
- Implement and manage:
- Storage replication technologies
- VMware SRM
- Database replication
- DR automation and orchestration
- Conduct DR testing and recovery validation exercises.
- Ensure compliance with RTO and RPO requirements.
Security & Infrastructure Compliance
- Secure Linux and UNIX environments following industry best practices.
- Conduct security assessments, vulnerability reviews, and compliance audits.
- Identify infrastructure security gaps and drive remediation activities.
- Implement hardening standards, CIS benchmarks, and security controls.
- Collaborate with Cyber Security teams on risk mitigation and compliance initiatives.
Vulnerability Management & Patching
- Own enterprise Linux/UNIX patching programs.
- Coordinate vulnerability scanning and remediation activities.
- Ensure timely resolution of critical and high-risk findings.
- Maintain patch compliance and security reporting metrics.
Infrastructure Solution Design
- Lead architecture and infrastructure design initiatives.
- Develop scalable, resilient, and secure solutions supporting enterprise workloads.
- Create technical designs, implementation plans, and operational documentation.
- Participate in technology evaluation, proof-of-concepts, and platform selection.
Hardware & Data Center Infrastructure
- Manage enterprise server hardware platforms including:
- Dell PowerEdge
- HPE ProLiant
- Cisco UCS
- Oracle SPARC
- Lead hardware lifecycle management, upgrades, firmware updates, and refresh programs.
- Coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting and support escalations.

Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years of Linux/UNIX Administration experience in large global enterprise environments.
- 5+ years supporting SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, Oracle ERP, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Proven experience supporting global 24x7 production environments.
