A Brief Overview

Provide pragmatic legal advice and solutions to meet the business demands and minimise legal risk of RGA’s operations, with particular focus on the Middle East and UK.

What you will do

• Provide timely, thoughtful and general legal advice and support (draft, review & negotiation) on
  • a wide range of reinsurance matters, including life and health reinsurance agreements
  • matters related to third-party administration, including claims management, policy administration, and customer service agreements
  • technology, digital and data protection
  • general corporate and commercial contracts
  • regulatory matters

• Advise on claims, disputes, and litigation related to reinsurance matters.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in reinsurance laws and regulations with specific focus on the Middle East.
• Collaborate with internal departments, including underwriting, claims, and compliance, to provide legal guidance.
• Retain and manage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies.
• Provision of ad hoc legal knowledge training to the business.

Qualifications

• Law degree from a recognized university.
• Admission to practice law.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial services industry preferably in (re)/insurance law, corporate, commercial law, and financial services law.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Excellent legal research skills.
• Prior experience in both common and civil law jurisdictions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Middle East experience.
