As Senior Legal Counsel, you have a solid understanding of the Legal, Privacy and Tech sector. You are a person with strong communication, hands-on mentality and strong analytical skills. We are looking for a motivated and engaged Senior Legal Counsel (m / f / d) to support our global Legal team from our office in Munich (Germany) full time to take our Legal team to new heights. Details of the role can be found below.


Requirements

YOUR TASKS

  • Support in shaping the strategic direction of our “Legal Tech” roadmap and play a pivotal role within the dynamic and forward-thinking Product and Tech teams; from the initial stages of design and development, through launch and implementation of new products and services - globally.
  • Counsel and partner closely with Product teams by applying a deep understanding of our solutions, ensuring that compliance, privacy, and risk requirements are embedded throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Help shape and future-proof our growing product portfolio by aligning innovation with evolving global regulatory and compliance standards, ensuring our offerings remain scalable, trusted, and compliant.
  • Draft, review and negotiate software procurement agreements and related vendor contracts as well as requests for information (RFI).
  • Stay on top of critical global law developments and authority decisions and continuously improve internal legal frameworks, templates, and compliance documentation.
  • For any candidates that are a fully qualified German lawyer (please see below), the role includes advising on German and international corporate and commercial law matters (Handels- und Gesellschaftsrecht), support our Corporate Secretary in such matters and liaise with external counsel where needed,  including due diligence and M&A.

YOU BRING 

  • A fully qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Germany (First and Second State Examination, "Volljurist/in"), or a comparable field—ideally with a strong focus on Legal Tech, SaaS, Data Privacy, and IT Security—alongside 5+ years of relevant in-house experience in an international legal environment. Based in Germany.
  • Strong product acumen with the ability to quickly understand complex SaaS solutions, translate legal and compliance requirements into product features, and advise cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Experience working in a B2B SaaS environment, preferably within digital technologies, legal tech, IT security or similar.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international commercial, privacy data protection laws, with a focus on EU legislation, regulatory decisions, and authority guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and legal writing skills in English (native or equivalent fluency), with the ability to convey complex legal matters clearly and effectively in a business context.
  • A confident, outgoing personality with a proven public presence—comfortable leading workshops, speaking at conferences, and traveling to our European hubs or external engagements as needed.
  • Nice to have: experience in German and international corporate and commercial law (Handels- und Gesellschaftsrecht), including due diligence and M&A.

Skills Required

  • Fully qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Germany (First and Second State Examination, Volljurist) or comparable qualification
  • Minimum 5+ years relevant in-house legal experience in an international environment
  • Based in Germany and able to work from Munich office full time (hybrid/flexible per policy)
  • Strong expertise in Data Privacy, EU privacy law, international commercial and data protection regulations
  • Experience in B2B SaaS environment
  • Strong product acumen and ability to translate legal/compliance requirements into product features
