Job DescriptionAbout the opportunity
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Legal Counsel Antitrust & Competition to join our regional legal team. This is a critical role responsible for navigating the increasingly complex competition landscape across LATAM, managing a multi-jurisdictional portfolio across 10+ diverse markets, ensuring our business continues to thrive in a robustly competitive environment while adhering to the highest standards of regulatory compliance.
What's On The Menu For You
Strategic Advisory: Oversee and advise on all aspects of competition law arising in the context of PedidosYa’s LATAM operations, including antitrust investigations and commercial agreements across 15 jurisdictions.
Compliance Driver: Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the global competition law compliance program, tailoring global frameworks to meet specific LATAM market nuances and adopting global standards into "field-ready" playbooks for local Ops teams in markets with varying degrees of antitrust maturity.
Stakeholder Partnership: Advise senior regional and local leadership on strategic initiatives, competition law risks, and regulatory investigations, acting as a trusted business partner who balances global consistency with local commercial agility.
Platform-Specific Advisory: Provide high-stakes advice on core business mechanics: merchant parity/exclusivity clauses, loyalty programs, dynamic pricing, and the "gig economy" labor/competition nexus.
Regulatory & Investigation Management: Lead on competition law investigations and regulatory engagements, including developing "Dawn Raid" readiness and response protocols across fragmented jurisdictions, ensuring clear visibility and informed decision-making at senior levels.
Practical Guidance: Translate evolving LATAM regulatory developments into practical, business-oriented guidance, enabling teams to operate confidently while meeting global standards and local requirements.
Global Training & Education: Develop and provide high-impact training sessions to a wide range of stakeholders within the group worldwide, fostering a deep understanding of antitrust risks and compliance culture.
What you need to be successful
5+ years of Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) in competition/antitrust law, preferably gained from a top-tier international law firm or a fast-paced in-house environment, and exposure to technology-driven or platform businesses is a strong advantage.
Strong understanding of antitrust regimes across LATAM (e.g., Argentina, Chile, etc.) and a keen awareness of evolving digital economy regulations.
Strong understanding of "two-sided markets" and platform economics, including how network effects and data access influence market power definitions.
Proven ability to balance rigorous legal risk management with the commercial goals of a high-growth tech business.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders and diverse stakeholder groups across different cultural and business contexts.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects across different time zones and jurisdictions.
