About The Position
The Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist position is responsible for providing oversight of business analysis and governance activities for Ameren's Business and Corporate Services (B&CS) Organization. The position will analyze, prepare, and report financial and performance insights to B&CS Management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support Cost Review Committee process and governance to effectively manage capital and O&M to achieve B&CS financial metrics and drive visibility and accountability with B&CS leadership
- Consolidate capital and O&M forecast to budget variances and track B&CS capital and O&M KPIs.
- Prepare documentation and analysis for Board presentations, ELT presentations, B&CS lead team presentations, B&CS Flash, B&CS people leader presentations, and other ad hoc presentations.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements for all operating segments, track, assign, and respond to data requests.
- Support joint planning activities, ensuring business line engagement and alignment on O&M spending.
- Develop, design, streamline, and implement financial reporting solutions.
- Analyze Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) and other financial information using a variety of internal Ameren systems and the Microsoft Office Suite and understand and support new technology adoption within the Finance department.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with B&CS leadership, Financial Services, Plant and General Accounting, and Corporate Modeling.
- Support customer affordability initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field from an accredited University required. CPA, CFA, MBA or similar advanced degree in business, finance, or economics preferred. Five or more years of relevant professional experience required (e.g. accounting, financial reporting, analysis or modeling, and business planning). Experience in IT/technology and financial planning preferred.
Qualifications - Lead Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field from an accredited University required. CPA, CFA, MBA or similar advanced degree in business, finance, or economics preferred. Seven or more years of relevant professional experience required (e.g. accounting, financial reporting, analysis or modeling, and business planning). Experience in IT/technology and financial planning preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Detailed understanding of capital planning, corporate finance, forecasting, investment concepts, practices and methods. Strong analytical, problem solving, decision-making, strategic thinking, and planning skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Advanced financial, statistical, and quantitative modeling skills. Ability to take initiative, collaborate and lead. Strong business acumen and ability to see the big picture. Excellent communication (written/verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills to effectively interface with and influence internal/external contacts. Project and vendor management skills. Advanced proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.

Compensation Range:
$86,400.00 - $140,900.00* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant’s credentials.
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
