Successful trainees receive System Tester classification and a completion certificate.

The intern will correlate weather information with outage and operational data, enhance dashboards and AI capabilities, research forecasting technologies, and participate in emergency exercises, after-action reviews, and continuous improvement projects.

Develops NESC-compliant standards, updates the Electric Service Manual, evaluates construction alternatives, investigates material failures, analyzes costs and efficiency, prepares reports, trains field personnel, and collaborates with internal teams, vendors, contractors, utilities, and industry associations. The role operates in a hybrid office, home, and field environment.

Designs and supports bulk, distribution, and customer substation projects up to 138kV. Responsibilities include establishing design parameters, preparing specifications, directing drawings, conducting cost-benefit analyses, managing project costs and schedules, coordinating cross-functional teams, and providing technical consulting. The engineer will also support integrating solar and other distributed energy resources into the existing electrical grid.

Supports Ameren’s Supply Chain team with strategic sourcing, procurement projects, category management, supplier and market intelligence, RFP analysis, demand planning, inventory processes, and process improvement initiatives. The intern will develop analytical and economic models, assist with team activities, complete a key project, and present results to executives. This is a full-time hybrid internship in St. Louis from January through August 2027.

Performs mechanical engineering studies, designs, specifications, construction support, inspections, and commissioning for natural gas turbine generation projects. Develops equipment and construction specifications, reviews designs and shop drawings, supports permitting and cost estimates, coordinates with vendors and contractors, conducts site visits, and resolves field issues. The role may oversee projects, work non-standard hours, and provide engineering support across fossil, hydro, gas, and renewable generation facilities.

Lead large, complex renewables projects (solar, wind, battery storage). Manage scope, budget, schedule and contracts (Build/Development Transfer, Notice to Proceed). Coordinate cross-functional teams, oversee vendors, perform forecasting and cost controls, manage risk and change, and mentor junior project managers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Apprentice gas utility worker responsible for supporting natural gas distribution operations. The role requires completing CAST testing and gas evaluations, passing behavioral, physical, drug, and driver screenings, obtaining a CDL, and becoming respirator qualified. Candidates must work with the public, perform shift work and overtime, and live or relocate within 25 miles of the service center. Welding, pipefitting, HVAC, and excavating equipment experience are preferred.

Patrol, repair, and restore electrical service, handle customer calls, operate substation equipment, and ensure safety protocols are followed.

The Mechanical Engineer supports the nuclear power plant operations by ensuring compliance with regulations, troubleshooting equipment, and providing engineering support. Responsibilities include system health monitoring, technical evaluations, and documentation revisions.

Supervise the development and delivery of maintenance craft training for fossil, combustion turbine, hydro, and nuclear generating facilities. Responsibilities include scheduling courses, providing classroom and hands-on instruction, evaluating students, maintaining training documentation, revising content, inspecting welds, interpreting welding procedures, developing training aids, and supporting corrective action investigations. The role also oversees student safety and development and collaborates with facility stakeholders.

Supervise vegetation management contractors and crews supporting electric distribution systems. Responsibilities include planning and budgeting tree-trimming cycles, coordinating landscaping and substation cleaning, enforcing safety and pesticide regulations, managing storm restoration crews, conducting field investigations, responding to customer requests, and evaluating productivity, reliability, and expenditures. The role also supervises office personnel and requires compliance with Missouri vegetation management standards.

Design, implement, and maintain the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). Support operators and IT staff, provide training and documentation, aggregate and model data for BI dashboards, analyze and test system functionality, implement software enhancements, maintain configurations, and assist vendor engagement and smart-grid enablement (SCADA, outage management, power flow, fault locating).

Manage large, multi‑million dollar engineering and construction projects across initiation to closeout. Lead cross‑functional teams, control scope/cost/schedule, coordinate outages, manage vendors/contractors, track metrics and reporting, ensure safety and compliance, and present updates to oversight committees.

The Line Troubleman patrols, repairs, and restores service on electric circuits, responds to customer calls, operates substations, and handles incident reports.

The ADMS Engineer will design, implement, and maintain the Advanced Distribution Management System, providing technical support, training, and system enhancements for electric utility operations.

Plan and execute IT audits of digital systems, cybersecurity, data privacy, change management and SOX controls. Assess risks, report findings, support remediation, collaborate with management and external auditors, and assist on project/process control reviews.
