Job Description

The Senior Knowledge Specialist provides a pivotal role in capturing, organizing, and disseminating knowledge related to program solutions, technical expertise, user support, data management, compliance, and collaboration. This position requires a blend of technical proficiency, analytical skills, adeptness in SharePoint site administration, and effective communication abilities to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of program solutions and support services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Capture, organize, and maintain knowledge resources related to program solutions, technical expertise, user support, and training materials.
  • Provide user support and training sessions for faculty, staff, and students on program solutions and related tools.
  • Manage data and generate reports to support decision-making processes and program evaluation.
  • Administer SharePoint sites, ensuring content accuracy, accessibility, and user-friendly navigation.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with university standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication among stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Lead initiatives to improve knowledge management processes and tools.
  • Serve as a technical expert and mentor for junior team members.
  • Administer SharePoint sites, including content management, permissions, and customization to support collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address system integration needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance user experience and optimize system performance.
  • Represent the Program Solutions Administration team in meetings and discussions related to program enhancements and innovations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in knowledge management principles and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of program solutions, technical systems, and user support practices.
  • Excellent data management and reporting skills, with proficiency in relevant tools and platforms. Expertise in SharePoint administration, including site customization, permissions management, and content organization.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to inform program development decisions, assess program efficacy, and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to articulate program objectives, outcomes, and value propositions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to explore innovative approaches to program development, incorporate emerging technologies, and adapt to evolving trends and student needs in higher education.
  • Understanding of accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to program development and institutional compliance.
  • Proven ability to design and assess curriculum effectiveness, learning outcomes, and student engagement strategies, particularly within a Competency-based Education model.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information technology, Computer Science, Education, or a related field.​
  • 3 or more years of experience in knowledge management, technical support, or related roles.
  • Experience in user training, data management, and SharePoint administration.
  • Experience in developing and refining educational programs, courses, and curricula within the higher education sector.
  • Experience with online learning platforms, learning management systems (LMS), and educational technologies used in online and hybrid learning environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Education, or a related field.
  • Certifications in knowledge management, project management, or related areas. Certification in relevant technologies or platforms (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint, project management).
  • Experience working in a higher education or online learning environment.
  • Proficiency in additional languages to support diverse user populations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
