We are seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our global IT Engineering organization. This role has a primary focus on Enterprise Storage Solutions, with additional responsibility for Linux system administration and a strong emphasis on automation and scripting. You will help design, operate, and improve infrastructure platforms that support critical business and engineering workloads across multiple data centers worldwide. The ideal candidate is a senior-level engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, automating at scale, and working across storage, operating systems, and virtualization layers.
You will work regularly with Micron's Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. You will be expected to suggest, promote, and leverage published standards to minimize environment complexity and ensure regulatory as well as license compliance. You will have the opportunity to travel to other Micron sites as well as technology conferences and trainings.
Responsibilities:

• Administrate and optimize enterprise storage platforms, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and data protection.
• Provide senior-level support for Linux Server, Lab & Manufacturing environments ensuring SLA agreements are met.
• Develop and maintain automation using Ansible, along with Python and shell scripting.
• Monitoring and maintainance of system health, ensuring security, availability, and reliability.
• Use approved AI solutions to improve monitoring and system health automations.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across Storage, OS, and Virtualization layers.
• Ensure architectural consistency through collaboration with global IT, infrastructure, and engineering teams.
• Contribute to infrastructure standards, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in storage engineering, understorage engineering, infrastructure, system administration roles.
• Strong experience with enterprise storage technologies (NAS/SAN).
• Hands-on expertise with Linux system administration.
• Strong automation and scripting skills:
  • Ansible
  • Python
  • Shell Scripting (Bash, etc)
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix, etc).
• Solid understanding of networking and security fundamentals.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience working in large-scale or global environments is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications (storage, Linux, virtualization, etc) are a plus.
