Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Support Specialist with a strong understanding of the back-office IT System used by the Stock Exchange of Malaysia. The ideal candidate will lead technical support and system operations.
This role will oversee IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage systems, data centres, and provide comprehensive PC and end‑user support for all business units in Kuala Lumpur. Responsibilities include Level 1/Level 2 coverage for desktop, standard applications, video conferencing tools, IP phone systems, and user onboarding/offboarding. The incumbent will manage and support trading-related IT systems to ensure high availability, security, and performance, while delivering technical expertise to trading and operations teams in a fast-paced market environment.

Key Areas of Responsibilities
Provide IT support for all business units in Kuala Lumpur.
L1/L2 end user coverage for standard desktop/user applications, desktop/mobile hardware troubleshooting and break fix, Zoom video conference support, user on/off-boarding arrangement, IP phone support, etc.
Backup tape management, patch deployments, AV updates, start of day checks.
1st Level support of internally developed and vendor provided business applications. Bloomberg, Internal trading applications/CRM Tools.
Software & hardware Inventory management and ensure documentation is kept up to date
Collaborate with global IT teams on project implementations tasks such as testing, upgrading, and migration.
Provide technical support for Bursa Malaysia trading systems (e.g., Bursa Trade, Armada, BTS2, CDS, FIX interface).
Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure related to trading operations, including servers, network connectivity, and application environments.
Coordinate system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure compliance.
Work closely with traders, operations, and compliance teams to troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions.
Manage integration and data flow between trading platforms and internal systems (e.g., OMS, back-office systems).
Ensure system security, backup, and disaster recovery readiness for trading systems.
Prepare and maintain system documentation, change logs, and technical guides.
Participate in IT projects related to capital markets and trading operations.
Supporting existing staff with their day-to-day needs is a secondary responsibility.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above in Information Technology or relevant discipline.
Minimum of 6 years of direct experience working in securities business with the Malaysia stock exchange systems, especially the back-office IT systems and related infrastructure.
Knowledge of IT platforms and system support across mobile and workspace environments, including Windows desktops, network connectivity, voice technologies, and data center management, is desirable.
Familiarity with trading technologies and market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, TC Pro) used in the local market environment is advantageous.
Strong end-users focus with a proactive, can-do attitude.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Good understanding of securities trading processes, trade clearing, and settlement in Malaysia.
Proven ability to work effectively under pressure.
Experience providing both face-to-face and remote support for internal and external applications.
Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Malay.
Analytical thinker with logical problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
Familiarity with the Malaysia securities market and regulatory environment.
Experience supporting trading or back-office IT systems in a financial institution.
