Senior IT Project Manager

We are currently looking for a self-starter to join our Strategy & Business Operations Team who is a quick study and versatile enough to drive complex technical projects. This team provides program and project management excellence to prioritize, plan, and execute across SaaS, public cloud, and IT infrastructure projects, including 3rd party applications platforms. This role is focused on Five9’s Corporate Infrastructure and IT Operations projects.
The successful candidate will report to the Vice President of Strategy & Business Operations and will lead projects focused on IT infrastructure projects, optimizing service management processes, and ensuring seamless IT operations to support business continuity. The Sr. Project Manager will drive the successful delivery of IT solutions, integrate industry best practices (such as ITIL), and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance IT service delivery, improve operational efficiency, and align IT initiatives with organizational goals.
You will need to be a team player with the right combination of project management, technical, and interpersonal skills. You will also leverage your superior negotiation skills and influence to work with all levels of management and their teams to keep projects on track from initiation to closing.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage IT projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resources, milestones, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders, to ensure smooth project execution.
- Track project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure timely delivery and project success.
- Facilitate regular project meetings to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Provide guidance to project team members while adhering to PMO standards and processes
- Manage multiple concurrent IT projects with a focus on prioritizing critical initiatives.
- Bring knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile Project Management methodologies, processes and tools, including scope management, schedule management, cost management, quality management, resource management, procurement, change management, risks management, issues management
- Work with the PMO team and contribute to process improvements to enhance quality and execution of initiatives
- Apply business domain and technical acumen to ramp up quickly on Five9’s products, technologies, infrastructure, change management, development and release management processes
Requirements
- With minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure and IT operations project management, including the successful delivery of large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (e.g., servers, networking, storage, cloud technologies, data centers).
- Understanding of security management practices related to IT operations (e.g., vulnerability management, patch management).
- Background in IT service management, including experience with ITIL processes
- Experience managing the design and implementation of office networks and infrastructure including circuit provisioning, hardware rack and stack / configuration, wired and wireless LAN installation and testing, conference room technology installation and testing (AV and schedulers), large meeting room AV installation and testing
- Experience presenting to C-level executives
- Self-motivated, energetic, excellent interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
- Proven leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present information, status, and issues in a clear and concise manner at all levels of the organization
- Able to understand and be involved in the technical details in order to successfully gather and understand complex requirements and drive projects to completion
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- High degree of flexibility, independence, initiative, and detail orientation
- B.S. in Business or Engineering discipline preferred
- PMP and/or Scrum master certification a plus
