Title: Senior IT Project Manager, Data Engineering
Location: Bothell, WA (Onsite)

The Senior IT Project Manager, Data Engineering is responsible for leading the full project lifecycle for complex technology initiatives, from project initiation and planning through execution, deployment, and closure. This role is accountable for delivering projects within approved scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectives while ensuring alignment with business priorities and enterprise technology strategy.

The ideal candidate brings strong project delivery experience along with a solid understanding of data engineering initiatives, including data platforms, integrations, migrations, and enterprise reporting environments. This individual will serve as a trusted partner across business and technical teams, driving execution, mitigating risk, and ensuring successful delivery of strategic IT and data-focused programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of IT projects, ensuring successful execution from initiation through closure.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and milestone tracking.
  • Manage data engineering-related initiatives, including data integration projects, data migration efforts, data platform modernization, pipeline enhancements, and analytics-enablement programs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including data engineers, architects, developers, vendors, business stakeholders, and leadership partners.
  • Drive project milestones and maintain accountability for timely delivery of project objectives.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, and change requests.
  • Lead status meetings and provide clear, consistent updates to project teams, sponsors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, financial forecasts, status reports, executive presentations, and governance materials.
  • Monitor project performance and take corrective action when needed to maintain scope, schedule, and budget targets.
  • Facilitate decision-making, remove blockers, and resolve project-related challenges in a proactive and collaborative manner.
  • Ensure effective communication across all levels of the organization and promote alignment between technical execution and business outcomes.
  • Support broader IT initiatives and strategic technology transformation programs across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an IT Project Manager or Senior IT Project Manager leading complex enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Experience managing projects involving data engineering, including data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, cloud data platforms, data migration, or reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills with the ability to guide cross-functional teams through complex delivery cycles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and resource management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading IT projects involving software implementations, infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, enterprise applications, and data transformation efforts.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid delivery approaches.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum, or related certification is a plus.

The base salary for this position is $92,250 - $115,000 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies. Benefits available to eligible employees in this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, comprehensive employee assistance program, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off and holidays and paid learning days.
