Job Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful end‑to‑end delivery of multiple complex software and service projects, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget and client‑satisfactory execution.

This role oversees large‑scale, high‑risk programs requiring coordination across multiple teams, regions, stakeholders and service domains. The Senior Project Manager also contributes to long‑term account development, establishes strong partnerships with senior customer stakeholders, and manages strategic relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

Project Scoping & Engagement

  • Define project scope, objectives, risks, resource needs and budgets
  • Identify client requirements and produce project plans
  • Support opportunity identification and participate in project sales presentations

Project Management & Delivery

  • Lead complex, cross‑functional project teams
  • Ensure project documentation, governance and sign‑offs
  • Conduct project planning workshops
  • Manage contract administration and client expectations
  • Monitor and control project progress, financials and resource utilisation
  • Provide frequent revenue forecasting
  • Manage cost, schedule and resource variances
  • Trigger invoicing milestones and ensure proof of delivery

Implementation & Monitoring

  • Perform project reviews and status reporting
  • Oversee vendor performance and drive improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of agile software development and infrastructure project methodologies
  • Advanced cross‑functional leadership capabilities (strategic thinking, communication, adaptability)
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities and teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including executive‑level reporting
  • Ability to lead change and coach teams
  • Proficiency with MS tools (Teams, Project or equivalent)
  • Experience with project management systems or PSA tools
  • Familiarity with PM standards (PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.)

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
  • 10+ years of experience managing medium to large complex projects in a Professional Services environment
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets up to €10M
  • Required: Agile delivery experience
  • Strong project management and soft skills (negotiation, facilitation, conflict resolution, executive communication)
  • Experience managing cross‑functional and supervisory teams
  • Preferred: Experience in retail industry (food or non‑food)
  • Preferred: PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification

Languages

  • Native level in Flemish
  • Fluent English

Additional Information

  • On‑site presence: 2 days per week
  • Work regime: Full‑time

  • Must hold a valid work permit for Belgium
  • Must have a residence permit confirming right of residence
