Senior IT Project Manager (German speaking)

Aliz is conquering the world by building big data, machine learning and AI solutions as a certified Google Cloud partner. Given that we are growing, we need a Senior IT Project Manager who can specialize in a specific IT solution area, balancing rapid, high-quality project delivery within their squad with continuous enhancements while maintaining a healthy squad dynamic.

This role will suit you if you

• have an engineering background (worked as an engineer, your husband/wife is an engineer, read/code a lot - anything will fit, just be on top of what we are doing).
• can get to understand what our customer wants, and feel the thrill to get the most out of a relationship with them.
• understand what a software engineer can (and is willing) to do, and especially how to motivate them to do it. 
• are OK with the fact that we have our revenue from our customers and understand how you can influence this (we are OK if you just pretend to like all of them - but do pretend at least 🙂).
• like to make things (code, tools, ways of doing things, relationships, etc..) better.
• enjoy working with a well-defined solution area and becoming an expert in delivering services with a stable team.
• are comfortable mentoring less senior colleagues to follow your path.

You will be responsible for

• the project delivery of the entire solution team, which may include more project managers under you in the future as the team grows.
• working with international accounts from Europe to Singapore.
• working together with the sales team to ensure a smooth transition from sales to execution.
• working with your business partner on continuously improving your team’s solutions to align execution with business needs.
• working with your tech partner to improve the overall profitability of your team through creating assets and improving delivery efficiency for future projects.
• planning the project tasks and schedules with one of our architects.
• being the main point of contact for our customers.
• helping our Engineering team to keep the project on track.
• making our customers happy with predictable deliveries and proper communication.
• sharing mistakes and good practices with your colleagues so they can learn from them.
• managing the collaboration externally, so subsequent projects keep coming in.
• managing the collaboration internally, so your team will be happy to work with you on the next project as well.
• ensuring your team’s utilization, making sure all members contribute to active projects or meaningful backlog work

Requirements

We’re looking for you if you

• have any engineering background (Computer Science, Engineering, self-taught, … any of these are fine as long as you understand that you don’t understand everything).
• have good problem solving skills.
• learn fast and can understand complex systems, especially how some seemingly small changes might impact the outcome.
• have held a leadership role in software projects, like Program Manager, Project Manager, Delivery Manager, or Technical Account Manager.
• prefer to get things moving and make progress instead of getting stuck in endless talks.
• have at least 2 years of IT project management experience.
• have the character to represent Aliz in front of our customers.
• have account management ambitions, handling multiple external stakeholders.
• are open to traveling to our customers for shorter or longer (but not that long...) periods, if necessary.
• speak English and German fluently.

Nice-to-haves

We’ll put you at the top of our list if you

• also speak Hungarian.
• have Enterprise experience - worked at one, or had one as a client.
• have a BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• have prior experience with Google Cloud Platform-based projects.
