Job Overview:
The IT PMO Senior Project Manager is a pivotal role within our organization, requiring a seasoned professional with at least 8 to10 years of IT project management experience in a large, global company. The successful candidate will possess a deep of and be an expert practitioner of Project Management industry best practices and have a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects to successful completion.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing of IT projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and project objectives
- Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases
- Oversee a global, cross-functional project team, providing strong leadership and direction to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with project owners and stakeholders, effectively leading projects from the front and ensuring transparent communication
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization
- Conduct regular project reviews and report on progress, risks, and opportunities to executive management and other key stakeholders
- Develop timely project status reports
- Assure that deviations from the project schedule are addressed and communicated
- Monitor project risk factors, escalate project issues, and provide Quality Assurance for all project deliverables
- Apply PMI institute's ten key knowledge areas of project management: Integration, Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Resource, Communication, Risk, Procurement, and Stakeholder Management
- Drive continuous improvement within the PMO by championing best practices and process enhancements
- Utilize strong presentation skills to convey complex project information to executive audiences with clarity and confidence
- Foster a collaborative team environment, building strong relationships, and employing active listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field
- Project Management certification is required (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile)
- A minimum of 8 to10 years of IT project management experience, preferably in a large, global company
- Proven track record of delivering complex IT projects on time, within budget, and with high customer satisfaction
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership skills with experience in leading global, cross-functional teams
- Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members and stakeholders
- Highly process-oriented with a keen focus on quality and efficiency
- Experience in managing projects within specific IT domains (e.g., IT infrastructure, Enterprise applications for HR, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, & Construction disciplines)
- Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and Testing Tools
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
