Summary Generated by Built In

We are seeking a highly versatile Senior IT Infrastructure & Systems Support Specialist to oversee systems administration, high-performance compute environments, local data center operations, network security, and end-user technical support. This role bridges advanced server and systems administration—including Linux/Windows Server OS provisioning, system patching, Active Directory/IAM, and NVIDIA GPU AI nodes—with hands-on technical support for both deep-tech power users and general staff. The ideal candidate will manage data center physical safety, system backup/recovery, infrastructure lifecycles, procurement, vendor servicing, and endpoint security.

Key Responsibilities

Data Center & AI Infrastructure Operations

  • Administer, configure, and maintain Linux, Windows Server, and NVIDIA GPU/AI compute nodes, including OS deployment, kernel & cluster updates, system patching, hypervisor management, and performance tuning.
  • Oversee data center physical safety, rack setup, power/cooling distribution, cabling, and scheduled preventative servicing.
  • Execute system administration tasks for backup, disaster recovery, server health monitoring, and storage capacity planning.

Networking & Security Management

  • Administer local network infrastructure, firewalls, office Wi-Fi networks, subnets, and network security protocols.
  • Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM), Active Directory/LDAP systems, and access controls in accordance with least-privilege principles.
  • Implement and enforce physical security controls, system vulnerability management, patch enforcement, data loss prevention (DLP), and endpoint defense solutions.

Office IT & User Support

  • Serve as primary system administrator and technical support engineer for infrastructure users, developers, and general end users.
  • Perform system administration across Google Workspace and core SaaS applications, managing automated user provisioning and settings.
  • Administer MDM tools (especially Jamf) to deploy, patch, configure, and secure macOS, Windows, and Linux endpoints.
  • Maintain office IT equipment, including AV systems, Zoom Room setups, and copiers.
  • Coordinate IT logistics for company presentations, internal events, and seamless new-hire onboarding setups.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of combined experience in system administration, IT infrastructure management, data center operations, and user support.
  • Hands-on system administration expertise across Linux (Ubuntu), Windows Server, and NVIDIA server environments.
  • Strong expertise in network administration, VPN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and access control.
  • Proven track record in vendor management, hardware procurement, system backups, and servicing schedules.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and clear communication with both technical power users and non-technical staff.
  • Available to start work immediately.

Desirable Requirements

  • Certifications in systems or network administration (e.g., MCSA, CCNA, or NVIDIA hardware systems).
  • Proficiency with shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python) for system automation and administrative tasks.
  • Experience working in high-performance computing (HPC) or deep-tech research environments.
  • Strong documentation skills for IT operational procedures, system SOPs, and disaster recovery plans.

What We Do

We are pioneering an approach to quantum computing that allows users to write programs in classical languages that can be compiled and run on conventional or quantum computers, without any knowledge in quantum computing. Whether you are a software developer interested in quantum computing, or an expert who is highly proficient in quantum information theory, you'll be able to gain a quantum speedup without the need to understand the underlying computational model. Our compiler automatically constructs quantum algorithms from classical code, so you can develop quantum algorithms for new domains without deep quantum expertise.
