IT Business Analyst – AI Products (APAC IT)

Johnson Controls operates a global AI product model, where the Global AI Organization owns:

  • Enterprise AI platforms and tooling
  • Core AI product roadmaps
  • Model development, engineering standards, and shared services
  • Global AI governance and risk frameworks

Within this model, APAC IT acts as the regional product partner and value owner, ensuring AI products deliver measurable business outcomes across APAC markets.

The IT Business Analyst – AI Products (APAC) plays a critical role at the intersection of global AI products and APAC business demand, translating regional business needs into consumable product requirements, enabling adoption, and ensuring value realization within the boundaries of global AI platforms and standards.

Role Purpose

The IT Business Analyst (AI Products) represents APAC business and IT interests within the global AI product ecosystem.
The role focuses on use‑case shaping, product backlog contribution, regional enablement, and adoption, rather than building AI platforms or models.

This role ensures that:

  • APAC business problems are clearly articulated and prioritized into global AI product backlogs
  • Global AI products are correctly localized, configured, and adopted in APAC
  • Benefits, risks, and operational impacts are well understood and managed at regional level

Key Responsibilities

1. APAC AI Demand & Use Case Ownership

  • Act as the liaison for APAC business demand related to global AI products.
  • Partner with APAC business functions (Finance, Commercial, Operations, Shared Services, etc.) to:
    • Identify AI‑suitable business problems
    • Define clear problem statements, successful metrics, and expected business value
  • Shape APAC AI use cases into standardized intake artifacts aligned with global AI product intake processes.

Focus is on problem framing and value clarity, not solution design.

2. Product Backlog Contribution (Global AI Products)

  • Translate APAC use cases into product‑ready requirements (epics, features, user stories) for Global AI product teams.
  • Clearly articulate:
    • Regional functional needs
    • Data availability and constraints
    • Localization or regulatory considerations
    • Adoption and change impacts
  • Act as APAC voice in global backlog prioritization discussions, providing data‑driven justification based on value and scale.

3. Regional Enablement & Localization

  • Work with Global AI product teams to ensure AI products are deployable in APAC environments, including:
    • Business process alignment
    • Data readiness and mapping
    • Integration touchpoints with regional systems
  • Coordinate APAC‑specific configuration, rollout sequencing, and dependency management.
  • Ensure global AI solutions fit APAC operating realities without deviating from global standards.

4. Adoption, Change & Value Realization

  • Own APAC adoption planning for AI products, including:
    • User journey definition
    • Training and enablement requirements
    • Change management and communication
  • Define and track value realization KPIs (e.g., time saved, productivity uplift, quality improvement).
  • Collect structured feedback from APAC users and feed insights back to Global AI product teams for continuous improvement.

5. Governance & Risk Alignment (Regional Lens)

  • Ensure APAC AI use cases comply with global AI governance, including:
    • Approved AI platforms and tools
    • Security, privacy, and risk requirements
  • Support regional risk assessment by documenting:
    • Data sources and sensitivities
    • Human‑in‑the‑loop controls
    • Operational support and escalation models
  • Act as the regional control point, not the policy owner.

6. Stakeholder & Product Partner Management

  • Maintain strong working relationships with:
    • Global AI Product Managers
    • Global AI Engineering teams
    • APAC IT Business Partnering Team
    • APAC Business Leaders
  • Communicate clearly across time zones and cultures, ensuring alignment on:
