We’re looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to join Monstro in our founding mobile team. This is a unique opportunity to help own and architect the iOS experience for a next-generation consumer fintech platform — from first line of Swift to shaping how millions engage with their finances.

You’ll work closely with design, product, and executive leadership to bring prototypes to life, establish our mobile architecture, and define how iOS development is done at Monstro. You’ll be hands-on from day one — helping us build, ship, and scale our mobile product while laying the foundation for a future iOS team.

The ideal candidate is a Senior iOS expert who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and obsesses over user experience. You have a startup mindset and are excited to build from the ground up — from picking between UIKit vs. SwiftUI to setting the tone for iOS engineering excellence at Monstro.

Product Development & Architecture

• Architect and develop Monstro’s iOS app from prototype to production
• Evaluate and decide on the core mobile tech stack (e.g., SwiftUI vs. UIKit, architecture patterns, testing frameworks)
• Collaborate with designers to bring beautiful, functional experiences to life

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with the product, design, and leadership teams to align app experience with strategic vision
• Partner with Android and backend engineers to ensure smooth integration across platforms

Iteration & Scale

• Rapidly ship, test, and iterate new features based on user feedback
• Optimize performance, security, and stability as the platform scales

Technical Leadership

• Establish best practices for iOS development, including code standards, testing, and CI/CD
• Create documentation and infrastructure that supports long-term growth
• Play a key role in hiring and mentoring future iOS team members as Monstro grows

Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of experience building high-quality iOS apps
• Deep expertise in Swift and iOS frameworks; experience with both UIKit and SwiftUI is a plus
• Proven track record of shipping consumer-facing apps at scale, especially in fast-paced or startup environments
• Strong architectural instincts — able to design scalable, modular mobile systems
• Experience with performance optimization, debugging, and App Store deployment
• Comfort building from 0 → 1 and working in unstructured environments

Note: This role will be hybrid in office for those in the NYC metro or remote for those in the Denver metro area (but with the expectation of periodic travel to our NYC office)

Base Compensation Range (New York City): $177,000 – $218,000
Base Compensation Range (Denver Metro): $157,000 – $192,000

*The posted range reflects the base salary for this role across the market ranges for each location. Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, internal leveling, and market conditions, and will be offered within the stated range in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.
