We are seeking an experienced Senior iOS Developer to lead the development of our mobile applications, particularly for the Twist App. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in iOS development, understand the app lifecycle from development to deployment, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with other engineering disciplines.
What you'll own
The native iOS app for Twist, from first commit to App Store approval.
The future embeddable SDK for integration into other apps.
App Store submissions, reviews, onboarding, rejections, and resubmissions.
Performance and UX decisions for an audience that is almost entirely mobile-first.
The call on what gets built, cut, or deferred to keep the app moving.
Must-haves
Unbothered by pressure.
Shipped at least a couple of iOS apps that real users downloaded (freelance counts).
Strong Swift and Xcode chops, and genuine fluency with the App Store submission process.
You've owned an app through its full lifecycle (build, test, ship, maintain).
Comfortable making product calls with incomplete specs, because a lot of this doesn't exist yet.
Can work solo for long stretches without losing momentum or waiting on directions.
Nice to Have
Experience building streaming or content-delivery apps.
Have integrated a mobile app with analytics or payment systems before.
Know your way around auth and identity management on mobile.
Have shipped an SDK meant for other apps to embed.
Comfortable in a codebase that's still finding its shape.
Skills Required
- Remain effective and composed under pressure
- Have shipped at least two iOS apps used by real users
- Strong Swift and Xcode skills
- Fluency with the App Store submission process
- Experience owning an app through its full lifecycle, including building, testing, shipping, and maintenance
- Ability to make product decisions with incomplete specifications
- Ability to work independently for extended periods
- Experience building streaming or content-delivery apps
- Experience integrating mobile apps with analytics or payment systems
- Experience with mobile authentication and identity management
- Experience shipping an SDK for integration into other apps
- Comfort working in an evolving codebase
