The Senior International Tax Manager leads the company’s global tax strategy, compliance, and reporting across multiple jurisdictions. This role drives the development of tax-efficient structures, ensures compliance with complex U.S. and foreign tax regulations, and partners cross-functionally to support business expansion and M&A initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, a collaborative and curious mindset, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and the ability to identify opportunities for automation and AI adoption within tax processes. Key ResponsibilitiesInternational Tax Planning & Strategy- Develop and execute tax planning initiatives related to international tax elections, global structuring, and expansion into new jurisdictions or business models.
- Identify and manage tax risks associated with cross-border transactions and operations.
- Provide strategic guidance on tax-efficient structures and processes, including transfer pricing, intercompany arrangements, and Bilateral Advanced Pricing Agreements (APAs).
- Lead the international tax provision process, including cash tax forecasting, reporting and disclosure requirements, foreign tax computations, return-to-provision adjustments, and purchase price accounting impacts.
- Oversee calculations related to GILTI, BEAT, FDII, foreign tax credits, FIN48, and FAS 5 reserves.
- Manage U.S. international tax compliance requirements, including Forms 5471, 8858, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8993, and FBAR.
- Review and manage external providers responsible for preparing local statutory financial statements and country-level tax returns.
- Partner closely with legal, accounting, FP&A, treasury, stock administration, SOX, AP/AR, and external advisors to assess tax implications of business activities.
- Provide guidance on issues including cash repatriation, income tax, VAT/GST, withholding taxes, R&D incentives, and Permanent Establishment considerations.
- Build strong working relationships, foster open communication, and contribute to a positive team culture through collaboration, curiosity, and humor.
- Take a hands-on approach to understanding existing tax workflows, systems, and pain points.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements—including automation, system enhancements, and AI adoption within tax reporting, compliance, and data workflows.
- Partner with finance systems, data, and engineering teams to design and implement technology-driven tax solutions.
- Support M&A projects through tax due diligence, evaluation of transaction structures, post-acquisition integration, and ongoing compliance management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, JD, or Master’s in Taxation strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of international tax experience in public accounting and/or within a multinational corporation.
- Strong technical expertise in U.S. international tax rules (Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, FTCs) and OECD/G20 frameworks.
- Experience managing global tax provisions under ASC 740.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others across functions and cultures.
- Curiosity and a proactive, hands-on approach to exploring new tools, processes, and technologies.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to translate complex tax concepts into clear guidance for non-tax stakeholders.
