Our business is structured around three distinct areas focused on our clients' changing needs: Aberdeen Investments, Aberdeen Adviser, and interactive investor.

As part of our Internal Audit function, this role offers the opportunity to shape technology assurance across the Group while investing in your tomorrow through meaningful leadership, development and impact.

About the Department

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual technology audit planning process, technology risk assessment activity and development of risk-based audit coverage across the Group.
  • Deliver complex technology audits and technology assurance workstreams within integrated audits, ensuring high-quality and timely outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-suite and senior technology stakeholders, providing insight on emerging risks and assurance priorities.
  • Oversee issue validation, portfolio quality and reporting, identifying themes and opportunities for sustainable risk reduction.
  • Lead, coach and develop audit professionals, allocating resources effectively and supporting capability growth across the team.
  • Act as deputy to the Head of Audit IT when required and represent Internal Audit at senior governance and leadership forums.

About the Candidate

  • Significant internal audit, risk or assurance experience within financial services, including leadership responsibility.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, risk-based technology audits across multiple business areas and control environments.
  • Experience of integrated audits and partnering effectively with business audit teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of technology risks affecting large financial services organisations.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-management skills with the ability to translate technical topics into business impact.
  • Relevant professional qualification such as CISA, CISM or CRISC.

Desirable: Experience in technology risk functions, knowledge of COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001 or NIST frameworks, exposure to cyber security, resilience, cloud, data, AI and third-party technology assurance, and experience using data analytics or AI-enabled audit tools.
