Capacity and Performance Engineering is a new discipline focused on delivering maximum platform performance on cost effective, scalable infrastructure. In this role, you'll have the chance to work with thought leaders, cutting-edge technologies and platforms, become an expert in analytic solutions, and be the authority on implementing enhanced strategies for IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

Lead the creation and implementation of strategies to boost system performance and reliability. Lead the design and implementation of architecture for cloud and database solutions. Drive technological decisions, gaining consensus and diagramming architectural plans. Develop new technologies and solutions where existing ones do not suffice. Address complex challenges with innovative approaches, contributing to the team's patent portfolio. Utilize advanced analytical techniques to optimize infrastructure performance. Manage and enhance the capacity of approximately 3000 servers. Work closely with a longstanding, cohesive team Share responsibilities evenly, fostering a non-hierarchical team structure. Clearly articulate ideas and architectural plans to both technical team members and non-technical stakeholders. Provide high-level consulting across the organization, using analytic evidence to support and guide infrastructure enhancements. Must be proficient in visualizing concepts and writing comprehensive diagrams and documents. Become a subject matter expert in analytic solutions, utilizing data to drive decision-making processes. Push the boundaries of technology to develop new methods and practices that ensure the efficiency and reliability of our services.

Requirements:

Technology background:

  • Highly Experienced in Systems software engineering/programming is a specialized area of software engineering/programming focused on software that operates/controls computer hardware and provides a platform for running end user applications.
  • Strong grasp of performance tools and advanced analytics.
  • Proven background in virtualization, cloud infrastructure solutions, and significant expertise in database and analytical roles.
  • 5 - 8 years as a Systems Engineer in design, analysis, configuration and maintenance of complex systems software solutions, based on a thorough knowledge of systems engineering and programming concepts and techniques
  • Specialization in at least one database platform (RDBMS, NOSQL, etc.)
  • Experience in designing and managing large-scale infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with full cycle automation (documented process to hands-off implementation)
  • Experience in both cloud and on-prem system engineering
  • Comprehensive expertise Includes operating systems, device drivers, utilities, and software; development tools (e.g., assemblers, compilers, etc.)

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent listening abilities and openness to feedback.
  • Ability to engage in constructive dialogue and effectively communicate technical concepts.
  • Capable of leading architectural initiatives and collaborating with a team to resolve issues and update systems as needed.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in cloud services, database management, or architecture are preferable.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$95,300 - $131,200 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
