Responsibilities:

  • Work across multiple infrastructure and automation codebases to remediate identified security vulnerabilities.
  • Design, implement, and validate secure, stable, and maintainable code changes.
  • Work as an integration engineer, connecting vendor, open-source, and internally developed solutions into the firm’s infrastructure platform.
  • Develop and maintain automation using Python and related tooling.
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated test coverage, and release validation processes.
  • Create test plans and validation procedures for security-related code and configuration changes.
  • Use lab and pre-production environments to test complex changes before production rollout.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, security, and application teams to assess impact and drive remediation to completion.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, documentation, and technical planning.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of platform reliability, security posture, and engineering practices.

Requirements:

  • Strong Linux engineering skills, including configuration, troubleshooting, system-level diagnostics, and operational support.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and the challenges involved in changing, testing, and operating them safely.
  • Strong Python development skills, with the ability to write robust, maintainable, production-quality code.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and release automation.
  • Experience with both automated and manual testing approaches.
  • Ability to create practical test plans, validation procedures, and rollout plans for complex technical changes.
  • Experience working with large-scale production environments and an understanding of operational risk.
  • Good understanding of security principles, vulnerability remediation, secure coding, and system hardening.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across operating systems, infrastructure services, automation, networking, and application integration points.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive complex problems through to resolution.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical risks, options, and recommendations clearly.

Advantages:

  • Experience with Perl in addition to Python.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools such as Ansible, SaltStack, or similar.
  • Experience with VMware ESXi, virtualization platforms, or private cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with vulnerability management, security scanning tools, remediation workflows, and audit/compliance requirements.
