Senior Infrastructure Engineer

What we are looking for…
We’re seeking an experienced infrastructure professional with a background in platform engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering. You’ll work across cutting-edge technologies, contributing to the design, delivery, and optimisation of our services that support critical operations in finance, government, emergency services, and beyond.

This role is based in our office in The Hague, Netherlands.
Key responsibilities of the role…
Architecture & Implementation:
- Design and deploy innovative, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions
- Implement zero-downtime strategies and ensure minimal operational impact
Automation & Continuous Improvement:
- Drive automation across infrastructure workflows to reduce manual effort and increase reliability
- Support the development of infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices
Observability & Security:
- Proactively identify and respond to performance and security risks
- Contribute to incident response processes and help maintain a secure and compliant platform
Troubleshooting & Support:
- Provide 3rd line support for complex platform issues, collaborating with 1st and 2nd line teams
- Optimise systems and deployments to enhance speed, stability, and service levels
Collaboration & Delivery:
- Work closely with Development and Product teams to ensure smooth, one-click deployments
- Support cross-functional efforts in release planning, testing, and rollout
About you…
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a STEM subject, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles (or 3+ years in such a role and 2+ years in a support environment)
- Strong understanding of infrastructure automation, scripting, and DevOps methodologies
- Hands-on experience with public or private cloud, microservices, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern security principles
- Solid grasp of database technologies and performance optimisation
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards (ISO, PCI, etc.) is desirable
