Delta Dental Plan of Michigan, Inc. seeks a full-time Senior Infrastructure DBA based in Okemos, MI. The Senior Infrastructure DBA is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our enterprise database systems. This position serves as the subject matter expert for database management, providing strategic guidance and operational support to optimize our data infrastructure. Specific duties include: 1) Oversee the daily operations of production and non-production database systems to ensure smooth operation and optimal performance. 2) Create and maintain multiple database systems, documenting operating standards and procedures. 3) Develop and implement processes and procedures for monitoring database performance and integrity, including backup and recovery, and automation of manual activities. 4) Evaluate, recommend, and oversee the implementation of new database-related technologies. 5) Provide technical guidance and support to internal and external users of the corporation’s databases. 6) Develop and maintain work instructions and training materials for the database administration team. 7) Ensure the development and maintenance of business recovery and disaster recovery processes. 8) Work autonomously and with multiple teams to triage database system performance issues. 9) Provide guidance to other teams on best practices and efficiency improvements. 10) Collaborate with various departments to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of database systems. Position is a hybrid position with an in-office requirement. Worker must live within a commutable distance of Okemos, MI and be able to work in-office as required.

Minimum Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, utilizing one of the following database management systems: Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB. Must also have five (5) years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: 1) scripting languages such as BASH, KSH, PowerShell, Python or Perl; 2) developing automated processes in support of routine database maintenance activities in a Microsoft Windows Server or Unix operating system environment; 3) performance tuning of multi-terabyte database systems supporting both OLTP and Data Warehouse environments; 4) utilizing backup and recovery software products and concepts; 5) delivering high availability solutions for database systems; 6) Cloud database migration and administration. All experience may have been gained concurrently. Experience must have been acquired after completion of the Bachelor’s Degree program. Position is a hybrid position with an in-office requirement.
