Senior Information Technology Officer (Customer Services/User Support) [Role: End User Computing] (25260678)

Position Description

Reporting to the Senior Information Technology Manager (Customer Services/User Support) of Office of Information Technology, the appointee will provide the first line of support to the University community in the use of IT services for the purpose of teaching and learning as well as a business operation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide IT support and delivery effective solution for the IT user services;
  • Deliver technical support and problem solving to VIP users;
  • Participate in digital workplace projects, including system upgrade, new services rollout, and software refreshment;
  • Assist patch management and computer standard imaging rollout to ensure security compliance and adherence to standard operating procedures;
  • Maintain printing management system to ensure reliable printing services;
  • Technical proficiency across Windows 11, Microsoft 365, macOS, and mobile platforms (iOS/Android);
  • Investigate and analyse technical problems escalated from the IT Service Desk;
  • Collaborate with IT team, users, external vendors to manage the assigned IT projects; and
  • Perform ad hoc assignments and responsibilities requested by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related discipline;
  • Minimum 4 years or above of relevant work experience;
  • Hands on experience in supporting Windows/MacOS, Microsoft 365, PC hardware and printing management system;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a technology-driven and analytical mindset;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work under pressure; and
  • Independent, self-motivated, quick learner, good team player, a strong sense of responsibility and able to work under pressure.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Skills Required
