Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.
Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.
As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.
For everyone, everywhere.
More about our mission and what we offer.
Job DescriptionWe're looking for an Implementation Manager to join our fast-growing Finance & Treasury Product team in London or Tallinn. This is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise's mission by making sure our customers' money stays safe as we launch new products and expand into new markets.
Your mission
Wise customers trust us to keep their money safe. Safeguarding is how we make sure that every penny we hold for customers is protected, in every country we operate in.
Today we run safeguarding across 11 legal entities and client asset protection (CASS) across 6. That means more than 500 bank accounts in scope, 5+ external audits a year, regular internal audit and regulator reviews, and several new legal entities launching every year.
As Wise grows, so does our Safeguarding team. Our global team builds and runs the automated controls and tools that every entity relies on, while regional teams own what happens locally. As the Implementation Manager, you'll connect the two. You'll make sure new products and entities are onboarded into our controls properly, and that incidents are handled quickly and transparently.
You'll work closely with the Safeguarding Product Manager, Safeguarding Engineering and Analytics, Treasury and Regulatory Product Compliance, Finance, Payment and Treasury Operations, and regional controllers around the world.
How you'll contribute to our mission
New product reviews, onboarding and approval
- Run the safeguarding review and approval process for new products and product changes, making sure every step is followed and nothing launches without the right controls in place.
- Follow up with product teams, Treasury Regulatory Product Compliance and Finance to keep projects moving.
- Keep a clear, up-to-date tracker of projects that need safeguarding support, and report on their status.
New entity launches
- Support new legal entities as they launch, working out how they'll be onboarded into our global systems and controls.
- Define how controls need to be set up locally for each entity, for example safeguarding timings.
- Work with Regional Finance and Compliance so that local controllers are ready to take ownership from day one.
Execution and implementation
- Plan and lead the work to integrate new Wise products into our safeguarding systems, together with product managers, engineers, data analysts and operations specialists.
- Own large, complex integrations from start to finish, and support the team with clear documentation: requirements, project plans, resourcing, testing and delivery.
Support
- Keep documentation of product flows and safeguarding calculations up to date.
- Get hands-on when things go wrong: help product and engineering teams understand the impact of an incident, drive it to resolution, and improve controls so it doesn't happen again.
QualificationsA bit about you
- You know regulated finance. You have experience in implementation, controls, regulatory operations or treasury operations in financial services or fintech, and you're used to working alongside Compliance to launch things the right way.
- You understand how customer money is protected. You know safeguarding, client money/CASS or a similar framework for protecting customer funds. If you know one regime well and are keen to learn others, that works too.
- You enjoy getting deep into the processing logic. You're comfortable with reconciliations, ledgers and financial data. You like to understand in depth how money flows through a product and what it depends on, and you can explain what a reconciliation break means and why it matters.
- You create clarity. You bring people together behind a common goal, balance different points of view and bring structure to complex problems. You write clearly, and you can explain complex concepts in simple terms to engineers, compliance specialists, finance teams and senior stakeholders without losing the nuance.
- You get it done. You keep many workstreams moving across teams and time zones without losing track of the details. You hold others to account without being their line manager, and you follow things through to the end.
- You stay calm when things go wrong. You make sound calls during incidents, and you know when to escalate.
Some extra skills that are great (but not essential)
- Experience supporting external or internal audits, or regulator inspections.
- Experience with control frameworks, obligation-to-control mapping or risk tools.
- Working knowledge of SQL or data tools (e.g. Looker, Snowflake) for investigating issues yourself.
- Experience launching a new regulated entity or a new market.
- Familiarity with safeguarding rules in more than one region (UK, EU, APAC, North America).
Additional InformationFor everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.
We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
