Superior Rigging & Erecting is seeking an experienced and highly professional Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join our Human Resources team and support employees and leaders across our Atlanta, Georgia; Forest Park, Georgia; and Orlando, Florida operations.
Working closely with the Vice President of Human Resources and the broader HR team, this position will help provide consistent, responsive, and professional Human Resources support across all company locations.
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner will have a significant focus on employee relations, leadership support, recruiting and onboarding, benefits support, performance management, Paylocity, and HR operations. This individual will serve as a trusted resource for both employees and leaders while partnering with other members of the HR team who have responsibilities across Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, and Learning & Development.
This is a hands-on and highly visible role. We are looking for someone who brings strong HR experience along with professional judgment, polished communication skills, discretion, accountability, and follow-through.
Professional bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred and will receive priority consideration.
What You Will Do
Employee Relations & Leadership Support
- Serve as a trusted HR partner to employees, supervisors, managers, and company leadership.
- Provide practical guidance regarding employee relations, performance concerns, attendance, workplace conduct, corrective action, and other employment matters.
- Independently conduct and document workplace investigations and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Coach managers through employee situations while promoting consistency, accountability, and sound HR practices.
- Identify workplace trends and partner with HR and operational leadership to address concerns proactively.
- Build credibility with employees while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Communicate difficult or sensitive information professionally and respectfully.
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Partner with the Human Resources team and hiring managers to support recruiting for professional, operational, and field positions.
- Participate in candidate screening, interviewing, selection, offers, and pre-employment processes.
- Support a professional and responsive candidate experience.
- Coordinate and support new-hire onboarding and orientation.
- Help ensure employees receive a consistent onboarding experience across company locations.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen recruiting and onboarding processes.
Benefits & Employee Support
- Partner with the Human Resources team in the administration of employee benefit programs.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for employee benefit questions.
- Assist with eligibility changes, qualifying life events, annual open enrollment, and employee benefits communication.
- Work with internal HR team members, Payroll, benefit partners, and employees to help resolve benefit-related questions.
- Help employees understand available resources while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
Paylocity & HR Operations
- Utilize Paylocity as a core Human Resources platform to support employee records, Recruiting, Onboarding, Benefits, workflows, reporting, Performance, Learning Management, and other applicable HR processes.
- Maintain accurate, organized, confidential, and audit-ready employee documentation.
- Partner with other members of the HR team to maintain accurate employee information and effective HR workflows.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve consistency, and strengthen the employee experience.
- Partner closely with Payroll on employee changes and HR-to-Payroll processes while maintaining appropriate review, approval, and separation of duties.
Performance, Compliance & Organizational Support
- Support leaders with performance management, coaching, employee development, and accountability.
- Assist managers with establishing and documenting clear performance expectations.
- Support Human Resources compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements.
- Assist with leave administration, employee status changes, and other employee lifecycle matters.
- Partner with Learning & Development, Safety, Payroll, Recruiting, Benefits, and Operations on workforce initiatives.
- Participate in HR projects, organizational initiatives, and continuous process improvement as business needs evolve.
Multi-Location Support
This position is based in Atlanta, Georgia and supports employees and leaders throughout our operations.
The Senior Human Resources Generalist will maintain a visible HR presence within our Atlanta and Forest Park operations and periodically travel to Orlando, Florida based on business needs.
This is an on-site position. Success in this role requires being accessible, engaged, and willing to spend time with the employees and leaders we support.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with meaningful responsibility across multiple HR disciplines.
- Experience at the Senior HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, Senior HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or comparable level.
- Strong employee relations experience, including performance management, corrective action, employee concerns, investigations, and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to advise and build credibility with managers and senior leaders.
- Experience with recruiting and new-hire onboarding.
- Working knowledge of employee benefits and benefits administration.
- Strong HRIS experience (Paylocity experience is highly preferred).
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Demonstrated discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to independently manage priorities and appropriately escalate issues.
- Ability and willingness to travel between company locations as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Hands-on Paylocity experience, including experience with multiple HR modules.
- Experience supporting construction, skilled trades, crane and rigging, steel erection, industrial services, manufacturing, logistics, or another field-based workforce.
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations.
- Multi-location or multi-state HR experience.
- Benefits administration and annual open enrollment experience.
- Experience independently conducting workplace investigations.
- Experience supporting organizational growth, integration, or change.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
