Job Title: Senior HR-Legal Advisor

Location: Remote - Philippines | Full-Time

About the Role:

As a Philippines-based Senior HR-Legal Advisor, you will facilitate the development and maintenance of scalable, country-specific HR documentation and compliance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions. You will conduct labor law research, standardize employment documentation, and create client-ready resources spanning onboarding, performance management, disciplinary processes, and terminations.

You will serve as a key internal point of contact for HR Advisory Services, supporting Sales and Customer Success teams with client queries and providing direct advisory guidance where required. The role also includes managing complex employee relations matters, including specialized labor law advisory for the Philippines, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and due process standards.

In addition, you will collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Onboarding, Payroll, and Legal teams to strengthen documentation governance, support training compliance initiatives across APAC, and drive process optimization to enhance scalability and operational efficiency.

What will you be doing?

  • HR Employment Documentation, Compliance & Advisory Support

    • Research and develop country-specific documentation for onboarding, PIPs, disciplinary procedures, and offboarding in line with local labor laws. Review and standardize HR documentation templates, including employee handbooks and employment contracts, to ensure commercial readiness and consistency.

    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external legal partners for review and validation. Maintain and regularly update a centralized documentation repository for internal and client-facing use.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for Sales and CSM teams on HR Advisory queries. Validate scope eligibility and coordinate with external legal partners on costs and timelines. Ensure compliant and audit-defensible advisory output while maintaining centralized tracking and strengthening frameworks based on recurring needs.

  • Global Employee Relations & Case Management

    • Manage employee relations matters including PIPs, disciplinary actions, workplace investigations, abscondment cases, and provide support on termination queries, while responding to country-specific ER queries in coordination with the Legal Offboarding team.

    • Conduct case intake, fact-finding, and compliance risk assessments, guide clients through statutory due process, review communications, provide real-time advisory support on client calls, and prepare defensible documentation while tracking case timelines.

  • Philippines labor law advisory (Specialized Scope)

    • Work closely with the Legal Offboarding team to advise on just and authorized cause terminations, ensure compliance with DOLE regulations and statutory due process, review documentation, and mitigate illegal dismissal risk. As required, lead administrative hearings and advise clients on appropriate next steps and disciplinary sanctions in line with the facts of the case and applicable labor law.

    • Manage DOLE statutory filings, where applicable, including Establishment Termination Reports and redundancy/retrenchment notifications. Ensure compliance with 30-day notice requirements and maintain audit-ready documentation.

    • Manage DOLE SEnA and NLRC proceedings as required, including attending hearings, coordinating with legal team on hearing strategy, reviewing position papers and supporting evidence, and assessing potential risks such as reinstatement, backwages, and settlement exposure.

  • Statutory Training Coordination & Management (APAC)

    • Identify jurisdiction-specific mandatory training requirements across APAC and lead the end-to-end rollout of statutory compliance training initiatives.

    • Provide advisory support on training-related compliance queries and maintain audit-ready participation records.

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely execution and proper documentation (e.g., POSH India).

  • Automation & Process Optimization

    • Onboarding Guides Productization: Review product requirements and refine onboarding guide content accordingly, validate alignment with Payroll and Onboarding operations, update guides based on statutory changes communicated by relevant stakeholders, and collaborate with the Product team to integrate workflows into system processes.

    • Process Automation & Efficiency: Identify and drive opportunities to streamline and automate compliance workflows to improve scalability, reduce manual effort, and enhance operational efficiency across jurisdictions.

  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Support Ad-hoc projects based on business needs and contribute to cross-functional process improvements

What We’re Looking For:

  • 8–10 years of experience as an HR Generalist or Employment Lawyer with strong expertise in employee relations and employment law.

  • Experience assessing litigation support exposure with Philippines labor law specialisation.

  • Proven experience designing and managing employee lifecycle processes, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and off-boarding.

  • Strong research capability across multi-jurisdiction labor laws and HR compliance frameworks.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and engage clients confidently.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with sound judgment and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, client-facing global environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, or related field.

  • Prior experience in an Employer of Record (EOR), global HR operations, or multi-jurisdiction employee relations environment.
