Here’s the scoop - Summary

At Champion Pet Foods we are on an exciting Global Digital Transformation Journey.  We are seeking an experienced Global Senior Media & Partnerships Manager to lead our global media strategies and build impactful partnerships that elevate our brands.  This role will be responsible for building strategic media frameworks, creating an innovative, integrated global media plan, cultivating strategic alliances, and delivering measurable results across diverse markets. 

The ideal candidate is a driven self-starter eager to work within a dynamic, growing company and possess a growth mindset, visionary leadership, and strong people management.  Applicants should have extensive experience in agency management, a proven track record with performance marketing, and a solid understanding of today’s global media landscape. 

What a typical day looks like

  • Global Media Strategy:  Lead the development of a comprehensive global media strategy that aligns with overall brand goals, business objectives, and regional nuances. Ensure consistent messaging and global efficiencies while adapting to local market needs.
  • Media Execution:  Oversee the planning, negotiation, and execution of the global media plan, driving on-time delivery of cost-effective and high-impact placements.  Regularly asses performance and adjust strategies to deliver against KPIS and instill a dynamic test and learn approach.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of media professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence. Lead training and professional development initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with global marketing teams, including Brand, PR, Social, Influencer, Advocacy, and content teams to integrate media strategies with broader marketing, brand, and digital initiatives.  Foster strong relationships with regional teams, understanding local business objectives, category dynamics, and pet owner behaviors.
  • Industry Trends & Innovation: Stay on top of emerging media trends, technologies, and best practices. Advocate for innovative approaches to media buying and storytelling, keeping the company ahead of the curve in global media strategies.
  • Partnerships Management:  Identify, negotiate, and maintain strategic partnerships with global agencies, platforms, and organizations that complement brand and media strategies.
  • Global Reporting & Analytics:  Develop global reporting systems that track the performance and effectiveness of media campaigns across regions. Provide comprehensive global reports with actionable insights, performance metrics, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Vendor & Agency Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with media agencies, vendors, and platforms to ensure we are leveraging the latest trends, tools, and technologies in global media.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage global media budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across markets. Ensure adherence to financial guidelines and reporting standards.
  • Team Culture & Growth Mindset:  Foster collaboration to build strong partnerships across internal teams within Champion and Mars Pet Nutrition Media teams.  Drive a sense of curiosity to promote a creative environment.
     

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in global media planning, buying, and strategy, with a proven track record of executing large-scale campaigns.
  • Experience managing global teams and working with cross-functional stakeholders across diverse regions and markets.
  • Experience managing agency relationships and governance.
  • Deep knowledge of traditional and digital media channels (TV, digital, social, influencer, print, etc.) and how to leverage them in a global context.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Proven success in managing multi-million-dollar media budgets and optimizing media spend for maximum return on investment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and drive performance.
  • Passion for innovation, with a keen understanding of evolving trends and technologies in the media landscape.
  • Proficiency with media planning and buying software, analytics tools, and project management platforms.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed abov, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits.  Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate).  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
