The Senior Global Director - Commodities will lead a global team of Global Commodity Directors to drive excellence in procurement strategy, Should cost & Gap to Benchmarking, Supplier panel optimization, Supplier VA/VE and innovation. This role carries full P&L responsibility for the Commodities performance and demands a high level of engagement with Sensata’s key suppliers and executive leadership. The Global Director commodities will be instrumental in influencing strategic decisions and aligning sourcing initiatives with broader business goals. With a focus on mitigating supply risks and enabling growth, the role includes ownership of supplier selection and sourcing decisions, particularly in support of Sensata’s strategic initiative to expand supply base. The role will collaborate cross-functionally across finance, engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure continuity of supply, protect revenue, and navigate global regulatory and tariff challenges. This high-impact position offers significant growth potential within Sensata’s procurement leadership and broader strategic transformation.

  • Directs the continuous development of the Sourcing and Procurement function towards the best practices in procurement and development.

  • Advises and strongly influences on the delivering of corporate aligned procurement objectives supporting total company strategic vision.

  • Advises and strongly influences implementing communication strategies to ensure accurate and timely flow of information to upper management, business partners, and suppliers.

  • Directs cross functional teams in supplier risk assessments, risk management and disaster recovery planning.

  • Support and represent Global Procurement for the Commodities Strategy & Performance.

  • Decides negotiation strategies and directs managers in negotiations and projects for cost reduction initiatives for all commoditiess.
  • Directs activities as required cross-functionally, including Planning, Engineering, Quality, Programs, Finance, Legal and Manufacturing concerning protection of supply chain.

  • Be the key contact point of the Categories supplier’s leadership team in order to protect supply.

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

Base Salary Range:

$210,880.00 - $289,960.00
