Our software – Cerbo EHR – is a cloud-based electronic health records (EHR) and patient portal software system. Healthcare offices across the country – and some around the world – use Cerbo for almost everything they do in their day-to-day operations. Cerbo originally started as a developer’s nights-and-weekends project. And has grown into one of the leading EHR systems for functional or “root cause” medicine and membership- or cash-based clinics. During the past four years our team has grown, and thousands of practitioners and patients use our product. To this end, we’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our growing team. 

What You’ll Do 

A Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (LAMP) is a professional responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that meet our clients' needs, with ownership of the full stack. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in both software development, as well as a strong background in cloud technologies. Primary responsibilities will be focused on building a back-end platform, with some front-end development. 

We are seeking an individual who can offer fresh, innovative and insightful perspectives, enjoys working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and is dedicated to delivering practical solutions and excellent user experiences, as we continue to broaden our customer deployments.
Objectives of this Role 

Collaborating with top-level executives to strategize and implement the maintenance, modernization, and migration of our existing codebase to a cutting-edge cloud-based Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform

 Primary Responsibilities 

  • You will be responsible for designing and implementing software solutions that meet the needs of the organization. You will work with other team members to understand the requirements and develop software that meets those needs. 

  • You will be responsible for providing technical guidance and direction to junior developers, helping to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. 

  • You will be responsible for reviewing code written by other team members and providing feedback to ensure that it meets the organization's standards and best practices. 

  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to ensure that software solutions meet business requirements. 

  • You will need to stay up to date with new technologies and industry trends to ensure that software solutions are cutting-edge and competitive. 

  • You will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance. 

  • You will need to communicate with stakeholders, including management, customers, and other teams, to ensure that software solutions meet their needs. 

Required Skills & Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field or equivalent industry experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development and DevOps 

  • Expert level in PHP and be able to write efficient and effective code. You should also be able to write clean, maintainable, and testable code that follows best practices. 

  • Proficient in database design and have experience optimizing database schemas. 

  • You should have hands-on experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating with backend systems. 

  • You should be proficient in Laravel and have experience building web applications using the framework. Should be able to design and develop APIs, create database schemas, and build user interfaces using Laravel. 

  • You should have experience with tools such as Git, Docker and Kubernetes 

  • You should have experience working with one or more cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and be familiar with their services and APIs. 

  • You should be able to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and able to collaborate effectively with other team members. 

  • As a senior engineer, you should be able to mentor and coach junior team members and provide technical guidance to the team. 

  • You should be able to keep up to date with the latest technologies and trends and have a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
