What you’ll do
- Design and develop innovative solutions and build new product features.
- Improve existing code to enhance the maintainability, performance, reliability, and resiliency of our systems.
- Write and maintain robust tests to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Ship code to production regularly.
- Automate repetitive tasks to improve team efficiency.
- Write and review RFCs and technical documentation.
- Review code and provide constructive feedback on the work of others.
- Grow professionally and help your colleagues grow.
- Participate in cross-cutting initiatives to influence how engineering practices and tooling evolve at Make (optional, but encouraged!).

Charon is cross-functional product team working on a mixture of core components and brand-new features for the Make product. Our team is responsible for up-market solutions, focusing on delivering features for Make's most advanced customers. We manage a diverse set of services with a primary focus on templates and credentials.

What we expect from you
You have experience building and maintaining back-end services, understand the demands of running a service in production, and know how to ensure its health. You can contribute confidently to both the back-end and front-end of our app stack, even if you have a preference for one.
You are familiar with common software and microservice design patterns and have applied them in your work. You produce readable and tested code and can engage in informed technical discussions, backing your opinions with facts and data. Specifically, we are looking for the following qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven experience in developing cloud services.
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript on both the back-end and front-end.
- AI-native mindset: You already use AI daily to move faster and build better, whether you're designing a system, writing code, or shipping features.
- Strong command of English, both verbal and written (we are an international team).
- Beneficial skills:
- Experience with Docker, software containerization, and microservices architectures.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Angular, or other specific technologies in our stack.
