The Role
We at FFIO (Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations group) are looking for a highly motivated individual to join one of our agile development squads to provide software engineering excellence to our existing suite of corporate actions applications. We are in the midst of an exciting evolution to meet the strategic corporate actions needs of Fidelity. You live our design and development methodologies, understand our business, and are on a continued pursuit to build empathy for our customers. While you are entrenched in the development, maintenance, and testing of one product area, your view expands to the product vertical your team operates in. You work with your team’s Architect to ensure sound technical direction.

Very strong Java / J2EE experience / REST API development

IDE - Spring Tools Suite / Visual Studio / Eclipse

Web Front end design – Modern Angular experience / CSS

API Testing Harnesses / Insomnia / Postman / SwaggerHub

Solid background in Spring Boot / Spring / Hibernate Frameworks

Exposure to Oracle databases & RDS / SnowFlake / SQL Developer / Toad

IBM MQ / ActiveMQ / Kafka

Solid SQL/PL-SQL background

Linux / Unix / Shell scripting
-
Knowledge of Networking / Load balancing / SSL

CI/CD tools such as Shell scripting, Maven, Git/Stash, Jenkins, Artifactory, uDeploy etc.

Experience in cloud technology, such as S3, RDS, EKS/Docker

Strong preference to AWS experience/certification

Perl and Datadog experience are a plus

Scheduling Software / BMC Control-M a plus

Familiarity with SWIFT messaging structure a plus
The Expertise We’re Looking For

6+ years of experience. Completed three or more projects on commercially available applications.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.

A proven track record of success in working with dynamic technology focused project teams and individually.

Ability to data-mine and troubleshoot issues.
