Toast is looking for an impact-driven, front-end-focused engineer passionate about transforming the eCommerce platform and associated integration technologies. Working closely with other engineering, user experience and product teams, you’ll play a crucial role in architecting and building solutions that increase customer satisfaction and drive profitability. You will create not just applications, but the experience and relationship Toast has with our customers ensuring they can order smarter, faster and more efficiently.
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
Design, architect and implement the front-end experience for our eCommerce applications in collaboration with product management and designers.
- Follow best practices for testing front-end applications, including unit, integration and end-to-end testing
- Review code to ensure technical implementation meets functional requirements
- Ship code that has a massive impact on the growth of Toast and its customers.
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- Minimum 5 years of experience building and scaling frontend ecommerce applications
- Proficiency in React, JavaScript/TypeScript and related front end tools
- Strong understanding of eCommerce specific challenges such as pricing, promotions, product bundling, checkout optimizations and user personalization
- Experience with testing frameworks, writing unit and integration tests and believing in automation to maintain software quality
- Know how to prioritize technical requirements and design needs
- Growth mindset with an emphasis on learning and self/team-improvement
- Passionate about the restaurant industry
- Enjoy working in a team environment with a shared code-base

- Familiar with GraphQL
- Familiarity with Magento and ecommerce solutions

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.
Pay Range
$131,000—$210,000 USD
