Senior Front-End Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior React Developer with a strong full-stack mindset to join our team at VirGeo. As part of Team VirGeo, you work on our innovative cloud-hosted platform. We seek to transform the way our clients interact with Geo-data. This platform serves as a single source of truth that helps our clients visually track project progress, gain early insights, and drive toward success – all in near real-time.

You are experienced in TypeScript, modern full-stack frameworks like Next.js or Remix, and testing tools such as Jest, Vitest, or Playwright. You thrive in collaborative environments but are equally comfortable working independently. You believe in leaving things better than you found them (a “Boy Scout attitude”) and embrace an MVP-focused, iterative working style.

Your role

In this role you: 

• Develop high-quality web applications using React, TypeScript, and full-stack frameworks such as Next.js or Remix;

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and refine features with a strong focus on user experience;

• Build and maintain reliable front-end and back-end systems in a full-stack capacity;

• Write and maintain comprehensive tests using tools like Jest, Vitest, and Playwright to ensure application quality and reliability; 

• Continuously improve codebases and processes, ensuring clean, maintainable, and scalable solutions; 

• Balance speed and quality through iterative development and MVP principles. 

Your track record

• You have at least 7 years of experience with React and related full-stack frameworks (e.g., Remix, Next.js);

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern web development practices;

• Hands-on experience with testing tools such as Jest, Vitest, or Playwright; 

• Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently, handling complex tasks with minimal supervision; 

• A proactive mindset to leave things better than you found them; 

• Experience in iterative development with a strong understanding of MVP principles;

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;

• A creative thinker with a pragmatic approach to delivering value quickly;

• A team player who actively shares knowledge and mentor others. 

It is considered to be a plus if you have

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines; 

• Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; 

• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to learning and improvement.
