Maybern is transforming the way private fund managers effectively manage their funds through cutting edge technology. Maybern is founded by top engineering experts with deep knowledge of the fund management space.
Private funds manage $15T in capital and are growing at 20% YoY, but with increasing regulatory scrutiny and investor demands for transparency, the need for world class software to help private fund CFOs is crucial.
This is where Maybern comes in.
We are equipping fund managers with intuitive, flexible fund management software, enabling private investment managers to focus on what they do best: driving returns for their investors. We are backed by leading venture capital firms and a large number of strategic investors.
Maybern is an NYC based company with a strong in-office culture to drive collaboration, and we are looking to make strong additions to our team.
What We're Looking ForMaybern is building a Forward Deployed Engineering team to partner with customers on sophisticated applications that extend the Maybern platform. The team focuses on high-value systems across AI, decision support, forecasting, optimization, scenario analysis, formalized workflow logic, and high-assurance automation.
We are looking for a senior engineer who can lead the hardest customer problems and help define the technical backbone of this new function. You should be comfortable operating where customer ambiguity, quantitative modeling, AI reliability, workflow design, and product abstraction all meet.
What You'll DoLead complex forward-deployed engagements from discovery through production adoption
Architect custom systems across AI, forecasting, optimization, simulation, and decision-support workflows
Design application patterns that connect Maybern's platform to customer-specific logic, data, and operating processes
Build evaluation, control, and validation frameworks for high-stakes outputs
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior customer stakeholders
Mentor engineers across the Forward Deployed Engineering team
Identify when bespoke work should become reusable product capability or shared platform infrastructure
Help define standards, technical direction, and operating practices for the function
Architect. You design application patterns that connect platform, customer logic, and data — picking the right level of rigor for the stakes.
Customer Partner. You serve as a trusted advisor to senior customer stakeholders and translate rigor without losing precision.
Mentor. You raise the bar on technical execution and help define the standards, tooling, and direction of the function.
High-Standards Builder. You hold a high bar for clarity and reliability in domains where approximation isn't enough.
6+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, quantitative systems, applied research, or forward-deployed technical work with significant ownership
Strong record of leading ambiguous, customer-facing technical initiatives
Deep strength in Python, SQL, system design, and analytical application architecture
Strong applied AI or ML experience, with clear attention to evaluation, reliability, and real-world deployment
Deep quantitative reasoning across modeling, inference, optimization, simulation, statistics, or decision systems
Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Strong taste in balancing speed, rigor, and trust in high-stakes environments
Familiarity with the Snowflake AI Data Platform as a strong starting point for architecting data, analytics, and AI workflows, though this is not required
Experience designing custom applications in finance, capital markets, enterprise decision systems, or similarly complex domains
Experience with optimization, probabilistic systems, simulation engines, or mathematical modeling platforms
Experience with formal verification, theorem proving, formal methods, or machine-checkable logic
Experience turning bespoke customer systems into reusable product or platform primitives
Experience mentoring engineers and raising the bar on technical execution

What We Do
Technology has revolutionized the operations of public markets. The improvement in capabilities has raised investor expectations and regulatory demands, but the private markets can’t keep up. Global private markets manage $15 trillion dollars. Despite its importance in the global economy, investment managers still run their operations on a patchwork of legacy software providers and manual spreadsheets, creating massive inefficiencies and operational risk. Maybern is changing that. By equipping fund managers with intuitive, flexible fund management software, Maybern is modernizing fund operations, making it more efficient, more accurate, and more seamless. In doing so, Maybern is enabling investment managers to spend more time doing what they do best: creating value for their investors.
