Job title:
In this role, you have the opportunity to lead mechanical and fluid simulation activities to support cooling unit and pump system design, enable root cause identification of field issues, and improve product reliability through simulation-driven engineering decisions.
Your role:
Design Simulation
Define simulation scope and methodology for cooling unit and pump system (CFD / thermal / flow / structural where applicable)
Build and maintain simulation models to support product design and architecture decisions
Perform simulation-based trade-off analysis (performance vs reliability vs cost)
Problem Solving
Support and lead simulation-driven root cause analysis for cooling unit / pump field issues
Correlate simulation results with field failure data and test results
Provide clear technical conclusions to support CAPA definition
Methodology and Model Reliability
Establish and improve simulation methodology and modeling standards
Drive correlation between simulation and test results (accuracy improvement)
Identify modeling gaps and continuously improve prediction capability
Support system level verification
Support definition of validation strategy by predicting risk scenarios
Identify critical stress / boundary conditions through simulation
Work with testing team to refine test conditions and improve efficiency
Quality and Design Process
Support design assurance and compliance activities through simulation evidence
Contribute to FMEA by providing simulation-based risk inputs
Ensure traceability of simulation assumptions and results
Cross team and supplier support
Collaborate with CU design, generator, and system teams to align simulation assumptions
Support supplier technical discussions (especially pump performance & limitations)
Provide simulation insights to support supplier issue resolution
You're the right fit if:
Education & Core Expertise
Master or PhD in Mechanical Engineering / Thermal Engineering / Fluid Mechanics or related
Strong fundamentals in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and mechanical behavior
Simulation Expertise
Hands-on experience in CFD simulation (ANSYS Fluent / CFX / COMSOL etc.)
Experience with pump / flow / cooling system simulation preferred
Ability to build and simplify models based on engineering judgment
Engineering Application
Ability to correlate simulation results with test and field data
Experience supporting design decisions using simulation
Understanding of cooling unit or pump system is a strong plus
