Meaningful Work From Day One:
Responsible for maintaining compliance with Federal Excise Tax (FET) laws in accordance with regulations specified by the Alcohol Tax & Trade Bureau (TTB) for spirits and wine- based manufacturing facilities, which include: Jack Daniel’s Bottling, Brown Forman (Louisville) Bottling Operations, Brown-Forman Distillery Inc., The Woodford Reserve Distillery, and the Old Forester Distilling Company. The following manufacturing processes are involved - distilling, processing, bottling, warehousing, and shipping. Total annual FET gross tax due for the Kentucky and Tennessee based facilities is approximately $220 million. Interpret, understand, and apply TTB law and regulations to the manufacturing-based facilities and related processes. Ensure compliance with regulations, as well as accurate and timely filings of FET tax returns and TTB monthly reports of operations (Distilled Spirits plants production, storage and processing reports, and winery report).

What You Can Expect:
● Prepares the monthly compilation and filing of MNBP (Manufactured Non-Beverage Process) Tax Claims for BFB and JDB. These claims represent approximately $1.375 million in excise tax reimbursement annually.
● Monthly review of tax paid goods exported. Identify those eligible for TTB Export Drawback Claims for the FET previously paid. Prepare and submit the claims to TTB.
● Prepares and submits Return to Bond Claims to TTB for tax paid goods returned to bond/redumped for further processing.
● Performs monthly internal TTB audits to ensure compliance to the regulations.
● Assists manager with the preparation and submission of TTB monthly operational reports (bonded wine cellar report, storage report, etc.).
● Assists manager in the preparation of amendments to TTB Registrations for all Kentucky- based operations (currently DSP-KY-414, BWC-KY-13, DSP-KY-354, DSP-KY-117, DSP-KY-15008, and DSP-KY-52). Amendments include changes in major equipment (tanks, etc.), alternating premises (MNBP and Bonded Wine Cellar), extending bonded premises to off-site bonded storage premises, security profiles, etc. Work closely with engineering to ensure diagrams are updated accordingly.
● Composes and submits proposed variances for alternate procedures to the TTB regulations; submits notification to TTB of the execution of required finished goods physical inventory counts.

What You Bring to the Table:
● Bachelor’s degree in business and 5 or more years in regulated food/beverage manufacturing industry.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
● Strong leadership skills, organizational skills, team player, and detail oriented.
● Self-starter with ability to independently organize work projects to conduct research, analyze data, interpret and present results in a concise format.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills.
● Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with all levels of internal and external contacts.
● Ability to complete assignments with accuracy and work a flexible schedule to meet deadlines.
