Join our GL EMEA team as a Senior GL Financial Controller and take a key role in driving financial excellence during an exciting expansion phase at the LEGO Group!
This role combines strong technical ownership with strategic project involvement, requiring a confident professional who thrives in change, enjoys influencing partners and wants to contribute to the long-term evolution of our finance organization.
Core Responsibilities
As a Senior GL Financial Controller, you will take end-to-end ownership of critical financial processes while actively contributing to expansion, integration and change initiatives:
- Supporting and leading project related to expansion, process improvements, and change management, contributing to the future shape of GL operations
- Building strong partnerships with partners across functions and geographies, acting as a trusted finance partner
- Reviewing and overseeing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, clear explanations, and timely resolution of open items
- Taking ownership of internal and external reporting, including audit coordination and responses
- Approving journal entries, ensuring correct classification, completeness, and compliance with local accounting standards
- Performing advanced variance and risk analysis to ensure financial statements are accurate and free from material misstatements
This is a temporary 18-month position, created as part of a strategic GL expansion project. The role is based in Prague – Jinonice (relocation assistance is not provided).

The LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service center delivering HR and Finance services across the LEGO Group from Monterrey, Prague, and Singapore. The General Ledger (GL) department plays a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality financial processes and meaningful collaboration across the organization.
Do you have what it takes?
- Proven experience in General Ledger and Controlling.
- Solid experience in an international accounting environment.
- Extensive experience leading projects in a dynamic setting, including change management initiatives.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to quality.
- Proactive, curious, and eager to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
