Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Location: [Cincinnati, OH / Remote]
Department: Finance
Reports to: Finance Manager

Position Summary

CBTS is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to drive financial planning and analysis for our fastest-growing line of business. In this high-visibility role, you will take full P&L ownership — managing Revenue, Cost of Provided Services (COPS), and Operating Expenses — while serving as a strategic finance partner to the Professional Services leadership team. You will deliver the data-driven insights necessary to scale our technology and professional services operations, directly influencing the company’s growth and profitability.  We are looking for a proactive thinker who can translate complex data into actionable strategies that fuel growth, profitability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis on project-based revenue streams; track results, KPIs, trends and new business contributions
  • Lead COPS Optimization: Monitor the Cost of Provided Services, focusing on labor utilization rates and expenses to protect gross margins
  • Process Improvement: Streamline financial workflows and automate reporting tools to reduce manual data reconciliation and increase analytical bandwidth
  • Lead monthly close processes for professional services organization and ensure accuracy of results
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, annual forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions
  • Prepare and present executive-level financial reporting, including variance analysis, and business insights
  • Meet regularly with business operations and maintain active partnerships with operational leaders & cross-functional peers
  • Partner with operations to maintain data integrity of projects within Salesforce PSA
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities; proactively provide recommendations to leadership
  • Review pricing models before presentation to customer
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts, as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, scenario analysis, advanced formulas)
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Strategic Partnership: Demonstrated ability to influence business partners and stakeholders through financial modeling and data-driven storytelling.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex financial concepts to senior leadership
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a professional services organization
  • Proven track record of managing full P&L statements, with a deep understanding of Revenue recognition, COPS, and OPEX
  • Experience with project-based services, and utilization-based models
  • Proficiency with financial systems and BI tools such as Salesforce, OneStream, Power BI or similar
