Job Description:
General Purpose of the Position:
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for the budgeting and forecasting processes as well as financial modeling to support strategic decision making. This person will be responsible for monitoring individual business units’ compliance with accounting policies and procedures. In addition, this position will provide critical operating and financial metrics and the qualified person must have excellent organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assume ownership and oversight of the budgeting, planning and forecasting activities of the company.
- Performs analytical procedures to determine any unusual trends, errors or areas of improvement; discuss results with business unit management and corporate personnel as needed.
- Work with business unit Presidents and other members of senior management to develop forecasts.
- Manage and refine the development and execution of monthly reports focused on operating and financial metrics.
- Prepare presentations for board of directors and various rating agencies.
- Work on special projects as needed.

- Data warehouse and business intelligence experience is a plus.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelors degree
- At least 3 years accounting experience in Insurance Industry, preferably P&C.
- Strong Excel skills including both data analysis (lookups, if statements, pivot tables, macros, etc.) and forward-looking modeling (i.e. forecasting and what-if scenario analysis.
- Superior written & verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized and ability to multi-task and shift priorities quickly, while maintain control of deliverables.
- Ability to analyze and problem solve, working closely with others to coordinate and complete projects.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
