About This Position
ChristianaCare is searching for a Senior Financial Analyst to be responsible for financial analysis, profitability, and operational and capital budget related functions to support the operations of ChristianaCare. This position will also support the broader finance team during the operating and capital budget processes and will communicate financial performance to stakeholders and leaders to further the strategy and goals of the organization.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for producing accurate and timely financial analysis related to the financial performance of ChristianaCare Health System & Affiliates overall as well as specific business segment and/or departments within the organization;
- Active participant during the annual operating and capital budget processes for the health system;
- Provide in-depth analysis of actual vs. budget variances, actual to prior period variances, and benchmarks where appropriate;
- Responsible for maintenance of various financial applications, including Adaptive and Workday Financials;
- Collaborate with financial and operational leaders to inform revenue and expense estimates needed to forecast operational performance for current and future health system initiatives;
- Responsible for development of presentations to leadership related to financial projections for new and expanded initiatives;
- Break down strategic problems and analyze data and information, to provide financial insights and recommendations;
- Responsible for producing accurate and timely financial analysis related to the financial performance of approved business plans and other initiatives across the health system;
- Assists departmental staff and management with budget, forecasting and productivity management;
- Assists with the capital budgeting and capital management process
- Performs special projects as assigned.
Education and experience requirements:
B.S./B.A. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent
Five to seven years of progressive experience in financial analysis, modeling, and working with complex datasets, preferably in the healthcare setting.
Preparation and analyses of departmental, service and organization financial proformas a must.
