This Senior Financial Analyst role will be supporting the Cigna Canada and all its subsidiaries’ companies in Canada. This role will be providing value-added, in-depth financial analytics for Management and supporting finance functions.
Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly reporting packages for financial review discussions and regulatory filings.
Prepare annual financial statements with notes.
Data mining to assist in preparing a comprehensive financial overview.
Provide value-added financial analysis and financial result dashboards.
Research, monitor and analyze all regulatory, accounting and tax standards.
Research and report on industry data analysis to management.
Assist with maintaining supplementary lead schedules.
Assist with the preparation of plan and forecast.
Assist in the facilitation of audits with external auditors.
Assist in maintenance of accounting policies and procedure documentation.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirement and internal policies.
Assist in finance projects and initiatives as needed.
Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by manager.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree and a recognized Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) is required.
Proficiency in report writing and presenting findings (e.g. PowerPoint Presentation).
Ability to analyze and interpret statistical and financial information.
3+ years of progressive work experience with an audit background.
Experience in the financial services industry, preferably within the insurance industry.
