The Senior Financial Accountant role is responsible for the integrity of the general ledger, involving oversee month end close for their team, general entries (bank, overheads, fixed assets and leases), and relationship management with Commercial finance teams.
This role is also responsible for maintaining the group Fixed asset register and leases register and assist the Senior Financial Control Manager with statutory and tax compliance for Rest of the World and any potential future rep offices.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Financial Reporting (internal and external)- Manage Fixed assets register and IFRS16 lease register
- Oversee of the month end close for their regions
- Liaise with the Commercial Finance teams and explain monthly variances.
- Review of balance sheet and report on the risks and opportunities.
- Support Regional local accountants to ensure local filing deadlines are met.
- Assist the Senior Financial Control Manager with local audit and reporting.
- Review monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, control account reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, IFRS 16 leases, Fixed assets and ensure differences are identified and resolved.
- Review of the accounting entries and reporting under IFRS 16 and reconciliation back to IAS 17.
- Oversee Capex procedures, accounting for all movements and depreciation.
- Ensure compliance with the company delegated authority procedures.
- Develop and maintain internal relationships with Shared services team, HR and Payroll, Commercial Finance team and the Regional local accountants across the ROW.
- Liaise and manage auditors at year end close.
- Support Shared Services in financial control advice and accounting policy guidance.
- Support the budget holders in coding queries or accounting guidance.
- Build a productive working environment through constructive, regular and timely feedback with appropriate involvement, delegation and monitoring of staff
- Align the performance plans of staff to achieve finance objectives and evaluate performance
- Encourage a culture of coaching, professional development and self-improvement
- Assist the wider Finance team with ad hoc project work, as required
- Involvement in Continuous improvement projects
