A Senior Financial Accountant responsible for the financial integrity of portfolios within the Bank’s Residential Mortgages franchise including oversight of the month end close. The role will provide technical support for new products and acquisitions and maintain and develop strong relationships with the business, operations and outsource providers. It will be a key driver of the Financial Control Change and Process Improvement agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage four direct reports and ensure appropriate training and supervision to ensure a high performing team within Financial Control.
- Ensure all month end accounting entries and reconciliations are completed in line with timetable to ensure a timely general ledger close to facilitate reporting. Ensure data integrity through oversight of controls, checks and reconciliations.
- Oversee month end processes including loan balances and interest income recognition, EIR accounting, transfer pricing and consolidation of the Bank’s Residential Mortgages subsidiaries.
- Manage the daily and month end processes for Third Party forward flow portfolios. Create and maintain strong relationships with respective business areas and outsource administration suppliers.
- Act as subject matter expert for internal and external change, leading the implementation of new forward flow portfolios and driving the Financial Control process improvement agenda.
- Ensure financial transactions comply with internal policies and accounting standards
- Assist with financial statements preparation for Residential Mortgages subsidiaries
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing financial documentation and responding to audit inquiries
Skills & Experience
- Qualified with a professional body such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc
- Experience of working in the Financial Services sector
- People management experience and a good team player
- Experience of using SUN general ledger system (or equivalent) and Blackline
- Reconciliations experience
- Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Enthusiastic “can do” attitude
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
