Team Global Express is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our high-performing Group Finance team in Melbourne.

In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of key technical accounting areas, drive best practice financial governance, and play a critical role in strengthening our financial control environment. You’ll partner closely with senior stakeholders across the business, influencing change and embedding efficient, scalable processes that support accurate and timely reporting.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the development and implementation of accounting policies and financial controls

  • Draft technical accounting papers for the Audit & Risk Committee and Board covering wider array of technical and control areas

  • Provide expert technical accounting advice on AASB/IFRS matters (e.g. leases, revenue, consolidation, hedging)

  • Prepare and review complex balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances

  • Own group consolidation and financial statement preparation

  • Partner with auditors and support Audit & Risk Committee reporting

  • Drive process improvements and strengthen the financial control framework

  • Design and implement best practice accounting processes across the business

  • Support balance sheet budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

  • Conduct financial risk assessments and provide insights to senior leadership

You will bring:

  • CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent) with a degree in Accounting/Finance

  • Extensive experience (15+ years) in large organisations or Big 4 audit

  • Strong technical knowledge of AASB and IFRS

  • Proven ability to interpret complex accounting issues and provide clear advice

  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes

  • Advanced Excel skills (Oracle experience advantageous)

  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills

  • A proactive, detail-oriented and improvement-driven mindset
